Survey Spot Instant Win
Survey Ramblings February 13th, 2009Stephanie, one of our blog readers, contacted me the other day about a suspicious email claiming that her Paypal account had been credited for $100. She didn’t remember having entered a contest, and the email was from surveysampling which she didn’t recognize. After a little searching, she found that it was associated with Survey Spot, but was still wary because Survey Spot pays by check. I was impressed that she followed the steps that we all should by not opening an link on an unfamiliar email! She closed the email, went directly to her Paypal account and found that the $100 was indeed in her account. Lots of people could avoid costly errors by following Stephanie’s lead. It’s always better to be safe than sorry.
The good news is that it was a legitimate deposit into her Paypal account by survey Spot for an instant win! Although they only pay by check for survey rewards, survey Spot does have an option for Paypal to redeem sweepstakes earnings. This is encouraging on many levels. Always the skeptic, I generally assume that nobody actually wins those things, and that sweepstakes and instant win games are just ploys to get us to take surveys for nothing. And so, with Stephanie’s win and also Tidyclean’s November win of a $100 instant music game win, I have to eat my words. It is real!
So remember, the next time that you get a survey that is instant win or sweepstakes, you may not want to pass it by. Survey Spot not only pays well for the surveys that you take, but it is also possible to win their sweepstakes!

Let’s not forget that just last week I won a $1300 Apple MacBook and $200 Apple 8gb Touch iPod from the Capital One-On-One forum end of the year contest. I am using both now.

This time in 2008 I won a $50.00 Amazon GC from Surveyspot. It took SurveySampling 4 months to email me the code.

True. I am very perturbed at the moment because I just completed an OTX survey that requires you to watch a three minute long video featuring various products such as the movie Push, VISA, Verizon, iPod, etc. then take a virtual tour through a store to clear your mind then spend over 35 minutes. I answered multiple questions on 70 pages, I counted them, only to be told that I was disqualfied. Not only do they test your memory on he items in the video but they also ask you quite a few questions about lunch meats, such as Hillshire Farms and Oscar Mayer and make you watch ten additional commercials, to see if you have seen them on TV. This is a patently unfair practice and I emailed OTX technical support, but it’s difficult or impossible to provide a survey number, because YourFreeSurveys, the site through which I took the survey, does not provide survey numbers. Did I mention that the screener for this survey was also about 20 minutes long and it was for $1.05?
Here is my email:

I’ve taken those before. I always end up having the Stones’ “Let’s Spend the Night Together” stuck in my head all day.

Hey Lee New, I too i took the same exact survey last nite. Once from YFS and somehow again on another site.I continued with the survey the 2nd time because i was suspicous and sure enough i was disqualified at the exact same place.right after one of the quick luncheon meat commercials. i had about the same amount of time on it as you. I believe it was either programed to do this or they employ some real inexperienced programmers.

Heath, Could you look into this whenever possible. It seems like YFS should be paid for this also. You would know much better than I.
Thanks,

Once again, I spent a few minutes on the typical OTX screener and was told that I qualified for a survey on various consumer products. I watched a 6-minute long video, then took a 2-minute virtual store tour and answered questions over many pages about the brands I observed. Then I was asked many more questions about lunchmeats, cereals and breakfast bars. After spending a total of 19 minutes on the survey (last time it took me over 30 minutes) I was once again disqualified. I think OTX is gathering too much free information before disqualifying me on this particular survey and I would like to be compensated and have this survey removed from those that I am offered. The survey was through YourFreeSurveys and the opening URL was:

Heath, just wondering if you are there. Have not heard anything concerning the OTX survey. Hope all is well.
