Pinecone Research: Top 25 Cash Paying Onine Survey Site Review
Advice, Survey Site Reviews, Top Cash Paying Survey Sites February 27th, 2008I’ve never been a big drinker, (well, OK, maybe back in college) , but for the most part, I’d consider myself a social drinker. With age comes wisdom, and I really don’t like anything that is going to make me feel terrible the next day. A few glasses of red wine, and I’m good to go. I have a few friends, however, who to this day, don’t listen to the little voice in their head that says “drinking this whole bottle WON”T be a good thing”. This guy says it better than anyone….
If a survey site could be given a “best all around” award, it would have to go to Pinecone Research. Almost without exception, it is listed at the top of all of the “Top 10 Favorite survey Sites” on the Internet. They earn this spot by making entry as a panelist somewhat exclusive, in that it’s difficult to find a banner to click on to join. They don’t take new members on their website and the links to join are limited. But most of all, this popularity is based on customer satisfaction.
I joined about six months ago, and have been more than pleased with the experience. I have gotten 2 surveys a month (product evaluations) and each has taken about 20 minutes to complete. Payment has been extremely efficient, usually occurring within a day or two by Paypal or check. All survey notifications are sent by email with an assigned number. Be sure to respond to all of the survey invitations that are sent to you. They are very strict about responding in a timely manner. If you don’t take the first survey that is sent to you, no other surveys will be sent out.
One of the best features of Pinecone Research is the guaranteed payment for your time. None of that awful business of spending 30 minutes on a survey to be disqualified. If they offer the survey to you, you WILL be paid. That’s a rarity in the survey world!
As I discussed in the beginning, joining this research panel can be difficult. They are, however, currently excepting new members, so if your have any interest, all you need to do is click on this link: Join Pinecone Research Now
Don’t miss out on any survey news! Put your email address in the box to the right to get each new post delivered to your email inbox!

I joined Pinecone Reasearch when I got an email from Inbox Dollars (They are an offer site). When I first joined I wasn’t sure if they were any good. I quickly learned that they were real when I earn $3 in the week. This month I have receive 4 survey invite from them meaning I earned $12. (That is not counting the one survey I just found when I logged in to my account.)
March 12th, 2008 at 12:23 am
Hmmm. I joined a few weeks ago and have not received any surveys yet. Maybe I need to check the site more often and make certain my profile is updated.
April 15th, 2008 at 1:17 pm
I will try to respond to as many surveys as possible.
April 15th, 2008 at 2:59 pm
I joined Pinecone and watch for it all the time. Ido participate when ever they ask
April 15th, 2008 at 5:59 pm
Pinecone is the only true survey website that I have found. I get my money for completing surveys and I get to complete the survey with Pinecone. Most other sites that call themselves survey sites just try to get you to subscribe to an endless list of “participating” businesses and there really is not survey. Also there are some sites that I will answer three to ten questions then be told “sorry you don’t qualify for this survey.
April 15th, 2008 at 8:48 pm
i like paid surveys
April 15th, 2008 at 10:31 pm
yeah dude how doesn’t? It does not get any better than giving someone your biased or unbiased opinion to some company for cash. Anyone can make big cash with Paid Surveys if they know how to play the game.
April 16th, 2008 at 6:05 am
I belong to pinecone guys. It is for real. And they do pay.You don’t get them all the time. just wait and they will send them. I love Pinecone. It is not a scam. Hang in there guys
April 16th, 2008 at 8:14 pm
The reason I join this wonderful Pinecone Research is because I love doing surveys for any reasons whatsoever and I actually earn $3 for every survey I do. Its awesome and very enjoyable too. Im glad I join this!
April 17th, 2008 at 10:48 am
As s Rev., I joined to help pay for futher education. As a Rev. Dr., I continued to help with monet for my ministry. As a Bishop, Pinecone continues to help in my ministry and personally I enjoy participatinc in such an atosmophere. Thank you for supporting me and I pray my responce will support others.
April 19th, 2008 at 5:04 am
This site is great guys, i can’t wait to turn on my computer and have another survey.
April 19th, 2008 at 2:20 pm
I just posted a comment on the Greenfield Online review, but I didn’t enter my email correctly so I have to wait for it to be accepted.
On a little something about Pinecone Research. Recently I received a new survey about a new product that they want me to try. I receive the product two weeks ago and I used. After I could the follow up survey, they asked be return the back to them. I would receive $5 dollars if I did. I’m now waiting to recieve the package where I would put the product. Its a great deal for five dollars. All I have to do is sent the package back to them.
April 20th, 2008 at 1:37 pm
I have been taking surveys for Pinecone Research for years and I agree about them being #1 I also do surveys for other companies but not one of them compares to Pinecone Research. It is a very efficient company, and you can’t beat the perks. This is one reason why I enjoy doing surveys for Pinecone, because I am doing my part in letting manufacturers know just what the public wants or dislikes.
April 20th, 2008 at 9:37 pm
I love this site…

They are the only ones who keep the money coming
A couple of days after each survey I receive the payment. I used to do it with check, but now I changed it to paypal which is way faster
PINECONE RESEARCH ROCKS!!!
April 22nd, 2008 at 2:30 pm
Pleased with survey and promptness of payment. Thanks!
April 23rd, 2008 at 5:21 pm
I have made $39 from Pinecone Research since I joined their panel in January. Right now I taking another $3 Pinecone survey. They are very consistent in keeping me active in the panel. I’m not taking one of their survey then I’m using one of their product to take a follow survey. This survey panel is one of the best sites to make money.
April 23rd, 2008 at 7:00 pm
I recieved and email from yourfreesurveys. It listed Pinecone Research currently accepting new people to do surveys and make money. Average amount was about 3 dollars. I would be interested in receiving your surveys and filling them out.
Sincerely,
Julianna Bryson
April 24th, 2008 at 10:19 am
Ahh Pinecone Research. I just had an opportunity to rejoin with them and I hope I get picked again. One of the gems in the survey sludge, I’ve been very happy with them in the past. Still can’t quite figure out why I quit.
April 24th, 2008 at 10:56 pm
I was a member of Pinecone Research. I loved it. All of a sudden. I didn’t receive anymore surveys. I contacted Pincone Research and was told that in one of my surveys, I didn’t answer something correctly. I have no idea what it was. It’s been over 2 years now and I have resubmitted. I haven’t heard anything yet. I hope I get back in. Pinecone Research is the only survey company that pays for every survey taken.
April 25th, 2008 at 11:30 am
Pinecone is very discriminating and only sends only one or two surveys per month, which are worth $3 each. A check is sent immediately, which arrives within about two weeks. I have received $3 in the past week and am expecting another check soon.
It also takes about a month before they start sending you surveys. Make certain that you have filled out their online profile and any email profiles that they send.
April 25th, 2008 at 12:50 pm
Well Pinecone is not very discriminating to me. They sent me five emails this month and I have made $15 this month. And they sent my payments though Pay Pal the next day I finish the survey. Since March the 24, they have sent me three products for me to use. I really happy with Pinecone Research. I think it will be one of my top sites where I made the most money.
April 25th, 2008 at 1:45 pm
What’s your demographic again? 19 to 24 year old hispanic CEO/IT professional with four kids, three cars who smokes, drinks, watches TV/movies obsessively and owns every known electronic gadget within ten minutes of it being on the shelf?
Just kidding! I know Pinecone is the top-rated survey company and I am anxiously awaiting more emails from them. Great going!
April 25th, 2008 at 3:35 pm
After reading your reviews on pinecone research I am joining now and am hoping for the best.
April 25th, 2008 at 5:29 pm
Your Demographic info does not matter. What matter is that you take every of their survey are household questions that will determine if you are selected to participate in one of their $3 survey. Sometimes you have to mix up your answers to get money, but if it works then its ok. Once you are selected to take one of their survey, you can make $6 if they send a product to use.
Remember, patience is very important if you want to make money with a legitimate survey site. I learned and many other things while taking paided online surveys.
April 25th, 2008 at 11:22 pm
I am not certain how Pinecone operates, but I do think specific demographics are very important for most survey companies. You should hear the 60+ year old retirees on fixed incomes who do not purchase much and whose children have left home complain about being disqualified over on the Greenfield forum.
April 26th, 2008 at 1:31 pm
I just started doing these online surveys a few weeks ago. I joined a whole bunch of a sites and I’ve gotten a lot of invitations, but almost all of them I didn’t qualify for. It felt like a waste of time to get no money at all. But yesterday I got my first survey from PineCone, and filled it out, and it felt like I was really making difference and earning the money they’re paying me. They’re also going to mail the product to me to evaluate, I think, and I’m really excited about it!
First money I’ve made from this! It’s great.
April 26th, 2008 at 4:57 pm
Lee I think Pinecone Research only looks at the household questions to determine if you qualify for one of their survey. The household questions are about the things you buy and use in your daily life. In houlsehold survey, the only demographic question they ask is your age, well at least that what they asked me.
Laura, patience is the key in making money from online survey. It can be a very very rewarding venture once you have established yourself as serious about taking survey.

I JUST RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM PINECONE RESEARCH TITLED “Panelist Compensation Opportunities Expanding”:

I’m pleased to inform you that your compensation opportunities as a PineCone Research panelist are expanding!
You will continue to receive $3 plus automatic entry into the bi-weekly sweepstakes for a chance to win a $500 cash prize for each completed product evaluation survey as you have in the past.

I also received that same message moppy on Wednesday. That same day I got a new paid survey about a new product. This new product is really different from whats available in stores right now. I really hope they send me a sample of this new product because I’m really interested in tasting it. I finished this survey yesterday, so I think there is really a slim chance that I will receive this product. This may or may not be right but I think the sooner you finish one of their paid surveys that offer you a chance to test a new product, then your chances of receiving this product could go up. Today I finished one of their household questionnaires.

Hi Rain, I saw that you had Vindale Research listed in the comment, so I’m assuming that you are talking about that survey site. It’s one of my least favorite survey sites! You can read my review about it here..http://www.yourfreesurveys.com/wordpress/?p=53 or look in the column to the right, scroll down and you’ll see Vindale Research listed. Click on it. Heath
May 14th, 2008 at 5:36 pm
RAIN,
What site did u join? probably an offers one not a survey one.
If u want to join legit survey sites, read the 2 posts named ‘top 12′ and ‘top 20′ here… they’re under “Tips and Hints” in the right column.
Also read all the old posts under “Detailed Reviews of Online Survey Sites” in the same right column. That way, u can join other sites that r legit and r not listed in the 2 ‘top lists’.
Good luck

May 18th, 2008 at 1:27 pm
Hi,
How exactly do u join pinecone research? When i click your link i am sent 2 vindale research, is it the same company?
May 18th, 2008 at 1:35 pm
There is no way in HELL that Vindale Research and Pinecone Research are the same company. They are the exact opposite of each other. For some reason the links in this page a not correct. Click this link to sign up with them: https://www2.pineconeresearch.com/Signup/Signup_Form_LI3.asp
This compnay is for real and is one of best survey sites out there. I have made over $40 with them.
May 18th, 2008 at 2:01 pm
No, they are NOT the same company. Pinecone offers their link only sporadically, and I think that they closed out the last big wave of new members. I remember the first time I joined, I went there directly because I couldn’t find a link. I never heard anything back from them (until I joined from an active link). It it my understanding that they may still be accepting Hispanic members, but if you were redirected, that must mean that they have pulled the banner completely. It’s strange that it’s a Vindale redirect. I’ll check that out tomorrow. Pincone makes the banner available for all members every couple of months for a short time. Heath
May 18th, 2008 at 7:18 pm
HEATH,
I’ve always had trouble with the links in YOURFREESURVEYS. Specially the ones on their SURVEY LIST. I click on the link that’s supposed 2 b 4 COMPANY A and turns out it opens COMPANY B. U should check that out. And sometimes the ones they send in emails have problems 2
May 18th, 2008 at 7:24 pm
The person who usually handles that was out of town last week, and it does appear to be out of whack. I’ll be meeting with him tomorrow to hopefully clear some of this up. Thanks for letting me know! Heath
May 18th, 2008 at 7:24 pm
Vindale is very, very sneaky!
May 18th, 2008 at 7:28 pm
LEE, u re back
May 18th, 2008 at 10:46 pm
I am not going anywhere, but with my PayPal having returned I am seeing an increase of sales on eBay and having to figure out how the new system of having two email addys and a separate PayPal account in my dad’s name works. I predict my sales will double within one month.
I hope that yall don’t mind but I am going to invite a select group of people to join us here before the next contest. I know it will reduce our chances, but I will only bring over people who can share valuable experience with us on surveys.
May 18th, 2008 at 10:54 pm
I’m glad to hear that sales are going so well! For better or worse, it’s hard to conduct business on the internet without Paypal. I appreciate any new people you want to bring over. The more the merrier! Thanks, Lee.
May 19th, 2008 at 12:02 am
Additional ideas for this blog might be to separate the reviews into categories of surveys for cash (PayPal or just checks?), surveys for prizes/gift cards and offer sites, such as TikTik Cash, Cash4Dollars, etc. I will also draw up a list of legitimate survey sites that you have yet to review and post it tomorrow when I have time.
May 19th, 2008 at 12:43 pm
Hey that was my idea Lee! I first thought of that idea on May 1. I posted the comment on “More Online Paid Survey Ramblings” and it’ comment #5. Here is the comment word for word:
“But if you do decide to review these kind of sites, then it would probably be helpful for those who dislike “prize drawing” sites to divide all reviews into two separate categories. One should be paided surveys and other one non paided surveys (that means points sites that do not offer cash like ZoomPanel and prize drawing sites like Planet Panel). It might even be helpful to add a Offer sites catogory in there.”
Anyway, thanks Lee for your interest in my idea. I believe this idea can be very helpful to everyone who visits this blog because they will be able to find what the are looking for really fast. This can be done and I’m looking forward to seeing this implemented in this blog.

PineCone Research — Membership and Security Reminder
De: Karen Scott (scott@pineconeresearch.com)
Dear Panel Member,
I’d like to thank you for being a valued member of the PineCone Research panel. This membership allows you to share your opinions about many new and exciting products. Today, I’d like to discuss two important aspects of membership, security and length of survey availability.
As a member of the PineCone family, I need to ask you to renew your commitment to preserving security. You, the member, are the foundation of this important principle.
We are a new products panel. Just as we take great care to safeguard our members’ personal information; we need to protect the intellectual property entrusted to us by manufacturers. For this, your continued support is necessary.
What this means in real terms is that PineCone concept and product evaluations are to be kept confidential. At the beginning of every concept and product evaluation survey you are asked to agree to the security and confidentiality agreement. When you type ‘I AGREE’, you are promising that you and all the members of your household will keep the subject matter of your PineCone experiences confidential. As tempting as it may be to share these experiences, remember that the products and ideas we test with you belong to the client. Violating your agreement to confidentiality by discussing questionnaire topics, product ideas or samples with people outside your household will lead to swift action in accordance with our policies. Remember that discussion outside the household includes but is not limited to casual conversations, Internet chat rooms, blogs and postings on bulletin boards.
Please click on the link below to learn more about member confidentiality.

PineCone Research is growing, and with that growth, we are looking forward to bringing you new and different survey topics as part of your routine participation. In the upcoming months you may have the opportunity to share your opinion about movies and the entertainment industry, helping to sort out the winners and losers for Hollywood. I want to encourage you to check your email as frequently as possible as well as make sure your email is set to allow messages from scott@pineconeresearch.com to be delivered. Some survey requests may be available only for a short time and we don’t want you to miss out on your opportunity to help influence tomorrow’s products today or the rewards of participation.
Thank you again for your interest and confidential participation in the PineCone panel!
We look forward to your future participation in our surveys.

As a PineCone member, you will soon be asked to participate in studies with a new product picture format. If the computer that you are accessing the survey from is incompatible with this new format, the survey will prompt you to download ArtistiScope’s CopySafe Web plug-in. Feel free to download the plug-in. This will be required for future surveys and will avoid interruption to your survey participation.
To keep pace with the growing needs of our clients, you will begin to see more variability in our survey deadlines. The amount of time that surveys are available may be just a few days. We encourage you to check your e-mail regularly and notify us of any changes or upcoming absences.
Thank you again for your interest and confidential participation in the PineCone panel! We look forward to your participation in future surveys.

March 30th, 2009 at 2:44 pm
hello everyone, im a newbie. i am wondering if anyone knows of Pinecone downloads. i have read that there might be a trojan download.
here is the copy of what i have read:
this is what pinecone sends to members :
You may be prompted to download AristiScope’s CopySafe Web plug-in if the test determines the new format is incompatible with your system. Feel free to download the plug-in. This will be required for future surveys and will avoid interruption to survey participation.
The Trojan was discovered with Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security. Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security is the LEADING virus protection money can buy, all virus scanners get their patterns from Trend Micro. So please know this alert has been authenticated.
ArtistScope_IE_42.exe is the name of the program.
Possible_Movly-1 is the name of the trojan.
TSC_GENCLEAN is the name of the malware.
http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyclo/default5.asp?VName=POSSIBLE_MOVLY-1
After it’s been removed…
It still stores itself in the system restore, which means it keeps being placed back on the hard drive. The only way to totally remove it is, to right click my computer icon on your desktop click on system restore, and turn off system restore (click apply), then turn it back on.
DOES ANYONE KNOW OF THIS ? I have just signed up and read about this after. So i am not sure if i should keep myself with this company. Please let me know!!

Subject: PineCone Research is Growing
PineCone Research is growing and we invite you to help! We are offering select members the opportunity to recommend membership to a friend or relative who is NOT a member of their household.
Do you know of households that would like to join the PineCone Research Panel? If so, please FORWARD A COPY of this email to each household you would like to refer so that they may click on the registration link shown below. That household should complete the registration form themselves and submit it. REMEMBER THAT ONLY ONE PERSON PER HOUSEHOLD MAY REGISTER. I have received three additional payments from Pinecone Research since April 7, 2009 that have not shown up on their website yet. I have also had difficulties logging onto the Pinecone Reseach website and I contacted customer support and they simply told me to reboot and try again.
06/24/2009 $3.00
05/24/2009 $3.00
05/04/2009 $3.00
Total: $69.00

I do like your website. And your posts about the surveys are interesting. I like doing surveys. And would like to join pinconeresearch.com Could some please give me a link or whatever it is to sign up? Please email at silvermage2000@yahoo.com
July 18th, 2009 at 4:25 pm
Pinecone is my absolute favorite! I don’t get paid that much compared to others. BUT when you’re sent a survey, it means you’re qualified for it! No screening questions only to kick you out. It’s nice getting the $3 plus another $3 if you do the product test.
Silvermage2000, you can only join pinecone if you find a banner or if they’re having a recruiting drive. Not only that, but signing up doesn’t guarantee that you will be permitted to join. I had to sign up 3 times before being accepted as a member. And also be careful, if you don’t get accepted, wait a while before signing up again, multiple attempts at signing up and you’ll be permanently banned from joining.
July 18th, 2009 at 4:33 pm
Alan, thanks for letting us know about your sign-up experience, I just signed up but hadn’t heard back, wondered if I needed to try again. So I’ll be patient for a bit. Wow, no screener questiosn to kick you out?! Sweet! I’m excited!
July 18th, 2009 at 5:28 pm
Pinecone is awesome Alan!! Every time I do survey or product testing (mailed to home) they immediately send $$$ to paypal.
July 19th, 2009 at 4:36 pm
Pinecone does send short screener surveys now.
July 19th, 2009 at 6:48 pm
Kara, after a couple weeks of signing up, send an email to scott@pineconeresearch.com and just inquire to the status of your ‘application’. And also ask them how long before you can try to sign up again so you don’t get banned
Lee, you’re right about the screening questions I forgot to mention that. However they tell you flat out in the email that the survey you are doing is just some basic screening questions for a future survey.
So unless you totally do the surveys blindly and randomly(which you should never do), you’ll never get disqualified.
July 20th, 2009 at 12:13 pm
There is really nothing to complain about with Pinecone Research other than the paucity of survey invitations.
July 31st, 2009 at 5:06 am
I was shocked, I got 2 surveys from Pinecone in one day! That’s never happened before!
August 13th, 2009 at 3:51 pm
Sweet blog you guys got here. These reviews really helped me choose the most LEGIT companies out there. Pinecone Research is simply the most legit and BEST survey company to my experience.
August 21st, 2009 at 4:37 am
The rss feed link on this page has a post about Pinecone accepting members through August 20. I didn’t notice it was after midnight, and when I clicked any of the links in that post, it directed me not to Pinecone, but to Vindale Research. What’s with that??
September 8th, 2009 at 5:02 pm

February 19th, 2010 at 5:25 am
just to let others know, that there was a sponsor survey on the Tuluna.com site tonight that started by asking if you want to influence products or something like that, got to a page to join pinecone. Not for sure that you will be accepted but you fill out your info and they said they will notify you in a few days. I had heard in the past about this one and how hard it is to get into too.

Pinecone Research is accepting new members right now on their website:

I registered with Pinecone back in March and have not heard anything from them about being accepted. So I will re-register again. If they pick me that would be great, if not then oh well. I really want to get on this panel!
July 4th, 2010 at 8:03 pm
Wondering if Pinecone will ever accept me
I emailed them and Scott said that If I am not chosen, feel free to register again. So that is exactly what I’m gonna do. Not giving up til I get in!
July 22nd, 2010 at 12:29 pm
I enjoy being a member of Pine Cone Research, they actually pay you for each survey in a timely manner, I do at least two surveys a month. Unlike the others that want to tie up your time for 30mins or more for a sweerstake entry.
August 1st, 2010 at 11:14 pm
I absolutely love Pinecone Research. Too bad they don’t send more surveys than they normally do, but I’m not complaining! I usually get 2 or 3 invites from them a month and that is great. I get paid with Paypal the very next day after finishing my survey. I’ve even gotten to test a product with them. They’re definitely one of my faves.
August 2nd, 2010 at 12:54 pm
I love Pinecone as well and usually get 1 or 2 survey invites a week. Love their next-day Pay-Pal payments.
