Buzzback Market Research: Online Paid Survey Site Review
Advice, Survey Site Reviews May 29th, 2008I hadn’t heard about Buzzback Research until I saw it on Lee’s list of survey sites he had joined. (Thanks, Lee for posting your monthly earnings for us!) I must say I’m glad that I found it! It’s a little different from the survey site herd, and I like that. The graphics are interesting and unique, but I found the research methods most intriguing of all. The first survey I was offered after joining didn’t ask the normal “what do you like to do” questions, but asked what kind of “object” would I be and why. It’s the first time I had essay questions to answer, and in addition, they gave examples of 2 different woman, described them, and asked which one I was more like. When you do as many surveys as we all do, I think a little variety is nice, don’t you??
You’ll earn points for cash, sweepstakes or gifts. Buzzback will let you know what you’ll earn before you take a survey. They don’t send out that many, but I’ve qualified for most of them and have earned about $8 in points. You can earn anywhere from $1 to $10 per survey, and you’ll be paid by check when the research is over (this can take up to 2 months). Overall, I think Buzzback Market Research is a great survey site, winning numerous market research awards for their research and website.
One more thing I need to mention today. I received an email from a head of a university research study, asking that I delete a comment on the blog which could compromise their ongoing study. The comment had detailed the study and the debriefing summary which was offered through a well-known research panel. I deleted the comment immediately and apologized for the inconvenience.
We need to remember that some of the studies are ongoing, and that when we accept the terms of the surveys, in most cases, we are agreeing not to discuss its content. It’s VERY helpful to discuss the surveys we receive and take, but I think we should be much more general in terms of describing them. I haven’t always been as careful as I should have been, so I hope that we will all remember to leave out specifics and talk more in generalities when we are sharing our knowledge about particular surveys.

Hi,
i just read about buzzback and tried to join, and guess what? apparently i already am a member. this must be the 10th time this has happened, i see a survey site i feel like joining and go to that site to join, and find out that i am already a member
I already maintain a list of survey companies i have joined and it is a total of 45 companies, but the list keeps increasing everyday. Maybe i should keep a bigger file, now all i do is keep a list of all money paying surveys i completed, the dates, and also the payments i have redeemed. But apparently, it is not enough.

WOopps!! My mistake!! I put that comment because they didn’t mention anything about keeping quit at least I don’t remember anything about that. Anyway, my mistake and I wonder HOW they found that comment. Maybe they did a search on their survey topic. Oh WELL!!
May 29th, 2008 at 11:02 pm
No problem, Eddie. Not sure how they found it, but after they did, I think everybody in the whole department looked at it
there were about 20 searches that day for the name of the study.

The same thing that happened to JASH18 happened 2 me… BUT I KNOW 4 SURE THAT I’VE NEVER JOINED THIS SURVEY PANEL.
And then they said that my account was inactive due to emails bouncing back (MY INBOX IS NOWHERE TO BE FULL, I ERASE EVERYTHING, SO THAT IS B.S.).
I could fix that by giving them my correct email (THE SAME AS ALWAYS) for them to send me an activation link.
Ok, so I got it… click on it… got the CONGRATULATIONS YOUR ACCOUNT IS NOW ACTIVE NOW GO TO LOG IN… I did and guess what? AGAIN THAT MY ACCOUNT IS INACTIVE FOR THE SAME B.S REASON.
What happened here???

I also had a problem with Buzzback but it wasn’t the same as Josh and maplaver had. When I first attempted to register with them, an error message said that I failed to sign in. So because of this, I attempted to create an account with my other email Yahoo!. The same thing appear that said error.
So I completely forgot about Buzzback until I received an email from them two weeks ago. The email was a $5 survey and I got the same survey in my Hotmail and Yahoo! account. So I quickly went to Buzzback to delete my Buzzback account with my yahoo! email. That was the only problem I got from them and for far that was the only survey invite I got from them.

Please Help!!!
In All Honesty I Have Done 2 Finished Surveys Each For $3.00 And Have Yet To Receive My Checks. That Was 10 Weeks Ago. I Understand That Some Survey Sites Might!!! Take 1 Month To Payout. But Come-on Dam It Has Been To Long To Wait. I Rate Buzzback 1 * This Is Monotnus! I Advise That Anyone Joins This Survey Company To Go To Mexico For A 3 Month Vacation & When You Return Your Checks Should Be In.

Here is why I am rapidly becoming disenchanted with BuzzBack surveys.
I just received a $5 check from BuzzBack for a survey that I took on August 29, 2008. Now I am waiting on two more $3 checks from September 28, 2008 and October 20, 2008. Needless to say, the time from August 29 until December 29 is a bit longer than 10-12 weeks stated in the Buzzback FAQ, unless the survey took a month to close. At least they pay eventually.

That’s great news Maria Plaza. I just finished a 3.00 survey with them.

I honestly don’t get upset when it takes awhile to get paid as long as I get paid. I would prefer to have it soon by PayPal but am just appreciative to have it at all.

Surveys seem to be few, but they usually pay $2 or more. HOWEVER, keep track of your surveys taken. I was not paid nor contacted 3 months after taking my first survey (I had 5 under my belt by then) so I contacted them. They send you a Paypal survey (basically, do you want check or Paypal) and then they pay you. I have been paid for my first two and am awaiting payment on my third (3 months after I took it).

TBH Buzzback is one of the poorest survey sites I have been with. More than any other operator, you’ll go 10 minutes into the survey, answering all kinds of detailed questions, before being ’screened out’. Add to this their poor rates of pay, frequency of surveys and length of time to be paid, and the final analysis is: don’t bother with Buzzback – waste of time.
October 8th, 2009 at 10:35 pm
Buzzback finally paid me the $6 they have owed me from February of this year. I am no longer tracking them. Too few surveys and too much effort required to collect the $3 per survey they pay.
January 15th, 2010 at 8:03 pm
Buzzback has to be one of the most frustrating survey sites out there. The good news is that surveys are short, 10-15 minutes and you get paid about $3. The bad news is you wait for what seems like forever to get payment and there is no way to check your balance.
January 19th, 2010 at 10:10 am
I have not seen a penny out of buzzback, I have taken three surveys from them and no sign of payment in sight. I think I would have to advise passing on them
January 19th, 2010 at 3:49 pm
BuzzBack is a lost cause. They are not worth my time. If collecting incentives from a survey site in any way resembles pulling teeth, then I do not bother with it. I collect my earnings, cut my losses and move on.
January 19th, 2010 at 4:50 pm
I agree with you Lee. I give up with this site as well and i don’t think i’ll be taking anymore surveys with them.
March 1st, 2010 at 1:42 pm
Just got an email about them “improving” their site. It now requires a $15 minimum before cashing out when it used to be no minimum.
June 1st, 2010 at 10:00 am
I think Buzzback is now run by United Sample, the company that operates SurveyHead, Focusline, etc. But it’s not as good.
June 1st, 2010 at 11:49 am
Buzzback has improved their website since I last posted, but if you take surveys through Surveyhead it will be difficult to qualify for any surveys on Buzzback because they offer the same surveys. I have no problems reaching the $25 minmum cashout threshold from Surveyhead.
