THANKS AGAIN HEATH ~ THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY !!! I DID WIN THIS ONCE, $25 I BELIEVE…
December 15th, 2009 at 1:17 pm
YAY! So that would be a limit of three comments to this blog AND three comments to the forum per day for a total of one entry each or a total of two entries per day. Right?
December 15th, 2009 at 1:35 pm
You are correct, birthday boy.
December 15th, 2009 at 3:33 pm
This is wonderful!….i won a prize for the first time in the last contest we had….
December 15th, 2009 at 6:40 pm
I will be updating my earnings for every survey site both here AND on the forum AND I will be posting updated original reviews, that I have written, on both sites for a total of 180 entries!
December 15th, 2009 at 10:38 pm
That’s great, Lee….i always read your reviews and find them very useful.
December 16th, 2009 at 11:39 am
I think this is such a nice way to reward people for stating what they know or asking what they want to know. Wow but we already know who is going to win.
December 16th, 2009 at 8:26 pm
WOW, this is another great contest. I wanna win!:)

I think this is a wonderful way to reward all the people that do rely on all the posts to this blog. I would have never been able to make enough money this year to pay for my families Christmas without all the help finding the good surveys. Thank you so much for such a wonderful blog site.
December 17th, 2009 at 2:01 pm
I’m excited, I missed out on the last contest. I enjoy reading this blog & the forum every day. Thanks!
December 18th, 2009 at 11:55 am
I hope i have better luck with this contest than i had with my attempts to do an Invoke survey yesterday. I tried to log in 20 minutes early and i was told the discussion was FULL…..that’s the first time i haven’t been able to complete a scheduled Invoke. My advice for people who do Invokes is try to log in as early as possible.
December 18th, 2009 at 3:19 pm
Always log in to EVERY Invoke Interactive exactly 30 minutes prior to the announced start time. You will not be allowed to log in any earlier in most cases.
December 19th, 2009 at 8:25 am
Yep i learnt my lesson well with the last Invoke, Lee…from now on i’ll do just that…..still kicking myself for not logging in earlier than i did…no use crying over spilt milk i guess….
December 22nd, 2009 at 8:33 pm
awesome
December 26th, 2009 at 6:11 pm
Great another contest! Maybe this time I will win something. Didn’t win last time because didn’t post as much as I wanted to.
Last week I heard of a new survey website called http://www.BigSpot.com I heard of it in a commercial late night.
I think this isn’t a real market research company because in their website they say this “Started in 2008, BigSpot.com provides user with free access to online consumer panels managed by some of the world’s widely recognized Market Research firms.” That says it all

I saw the advertisement for BigSpot too. I thought Survey Spot might be changing their name. Of course, whatever was going on would get posted here so I figured I would wait and see what others posted.

Is anyone enrolled in My Coke Rewards? I have been saving bottle tops but the number/code is so difficult to read, I don’t know if it is worth the effort.
December 27th, 2009 at 3:31 pm
I just started MyCokeRewards again after a long hiatus. I don’t know if I’ll accrue enough points to get something I really want, but time will tell. I redeemed some Sprite bottles, and they have a circular film of plastic that you can pluck out so that the codes are readable. It snaps back into place if you want to put it back. I don’t know if it’s the same for other products. Good luck!

I am considering joining Fusion Cash but would like some input from existing members. Like all of us, I can only do so many surveys in a day. Is Fusion Cash worth my time?
December 28th, 2009 at 3:47 pm
As I mentioned, I’m reducing my number of survey site memberships. Right now, I positive I will stick with Survey Savvy and Ispo.
December 28th, 2009 at 3:49 pm
As far as I can recall, I have never received a thing from Ispo but they let you play the Poll Predictor even when you don’t quaify for the survey and I enjoy playing the game. In addition, I rarely qualify for a Ispo survey so I end up just playing the game anyway.

Thanks for the entry
December 30th, 2009 at 6:48 pm
Occasionally, I open a survey from one of my usual sites and will receive a message that it is going to one of their partners. That is fine unless it is OTX. If I start entering data, it just loops and loops telling me I don’t qualify for survey after survey. Has anyone else had this experience?
December 30th, 2009 at 6:51 pm
I was reading the post about the top 10 favorite website but I couldn’t figure out if it a brand new list for 2010 or an older version of 2009’s Top 10. If it is up-to-date list, would you repost? Thanks for all the time and effort you put into Blog/Forum. Although I don’t chat with any of the members, it makes me feel like part of a community.
December 31st, 2009 at 11:21 am
I will repost my updated Top Ten Survey list either today or tommorrow under the contest thread.
January 1st, 2010 at 12:40 pm
Thanks Lee. There are so many sites and, of course, a limited amount of time that I truly appreciate being steered to the sites that are worth my time.
January 1st, 2010 at 12:44 pm
I have a question about the blog contest. If I post one entry here on the Contest blog and a total of 5 posts to the other blogs/thread at myfreesurvey, is that a total of 2 entries for the day? Or, (in an effort to win a prize!) need to post 3 times to the Contest Blog for one entry (putting aside posts on the other blogs)?

I started keeping records of my online paid surveys January 31, 2008. I spend an average of two to three hours per day taking surveys. Here are the amounts that I have earned from my 30 best paid online survey sites. I have earned $3943.63 in 23 months from 30 survey sites, which is $171.46 per month. 10 Good Tips for Taking Paid Online Surveys
———————————————————-
My name is LapisLee and I have been taking paid online surveys for the past 18 months. This series of articles, based on my own experience is to help newcomers and more experienced survey takers improve their earnings, while minimizing the time spent in front of the computer. I started keeping records of my paid online surveys on January 31, 2008. I spend an average of two to three hours per day taking surveys. I have earned $3173.46 in 18 months from 31 survey sites, which is $176.30 per month. My actual receipts are $3007.61, which is $167.09 per month. The average survey site earned $5.69 per month, but that does not take into account how recently I have joined some sites, so I predict that this number will go up dramatically, particularly after the recent recession which has effected survey frequency. I also won a $1200 Apple MacBook and $200 Apple iPod Touch from being a member of an online forum and $110 from various contest wins, such as the $25 I won from YFS July contest. The number of products, such as socks, underwear, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant, toothpaste, chewing gum, mints, pasta sauce, potato chips, granola bars, etc. are far too numerous to mention; however, they are a also a large part of why taking paid online surveys is lucrative for me.
In addition to products and monetary incentives, I also enjoy being the first to view new movie trailers, television shows, commercials and products. Expressing my opinion and influencing new product concepts is also another enticing part of taking surveys. I always try my best to give honest, thoughtful opinions because not only does this preserve my own integrity, but survey companies often recognize and reward the respondents who give the most in-depth, insightful and honest answers. They will also disqualify those whose answers are not consistent over time.
10 Good Tips for Taking Paid Online Surveys
Everyone wants to know which surveys pay, but there are a few other things that you need to know before you even sign up for your first paid survey site. Here are ten tips, tricks and techniques that I have learned and I will add others as they occur to me. I am sure other members will add their own as well.
Use a brand new email address that is dedicated solely to surveys, because you will want to ensure that you have a dedicated email account to store and organize your survey invitations. This ensures that you do not get email invitations mixed up with your personal email, and it makes it easier to track individual survey panel invites. A good one to use is Gmail, because it has color-coded labels for labeling different surveys from different panels. You can also use Hotmail.com, Yahoo.com, AOL.com, etc.
NEVER pay for a list of paid online surveys because we will provide that list to you freely. You do not need to pay anyone for anything. All you will need is a list of 20-30 good legitimate paid online surveys. You also do not need to sign up for 100-200 surveys. A basic list of 10 legitimate survey sites is enough to get anyone started and 30 survey sites is enough to make over $200 per month within six months time.
Get Roboform in order to save all of your passwords and personal information. Roboform will fill out online forms at the click of a button saving you time and effort. In addition, it can also be used to safely store passwords and enter those at a click of a button as well so you’ll never forget a password again. Roboform is 100% free for the shareware version. You can download it here: Roboform
Get a PayPal account so you can get paid FAST. Checks often take six to eight weeks to arrive and most of the larger legitimate survey sites are now implementing PayPal into their payment systems.
AVOID all Get Paid to Try (GPT) offer sites that tell you to sign up for Silver, Gold and Platinum offers. These never lead to legitimate paid survey sites.
NEVER give out your Social Security number or credit card information. Legitimate survey companies will not ask for either of these numbers except for tax purposes if you earn more than $600 with them during the course of the tax year, in which case you will receive an IRS W-2 form from the company at the end of the year.
ONLY give out your cell phone number for text-based surveys that you opt-in to; otherwise, I would avoid it.
When you complete a paid survey, ALWAYS save the email invitation and keep an accurate record of every survey that you complete, particularly surveys of $5 and above. If there is a discrepancy and you do not receive credit for a survey it is very important that you have the survey number to reference in order to collect your incentive. Also, save the original email invitation for each survey company that has the link to the home site and the support email, as well as create a link in your browser favorites for quick access. Browser links are particularly important for daily survey panels that you will access first thing every morning after completing higher paying surveys from your email inbox.
ALWAYS fill in all of the profiles when you sign up for each paid survey site. This will insure that you receive the maximum number of surveys that you qualify for and allow the survey company to target you more accurately so you disqualify less often. Also keep them updated.
Check your email FREQUENTLY as the highest paying survey invitations and, especially the lucrative panel forums, often fill up within a few hours or even sooner of the email invitation arriving in your inbox.

Lee, thanks for the comprehensive post on your experience with survey taking. I have been taking surveys since 2005 (a limited number of sites to start off with) and I wish I had had your insight before I started.
I have now created a new email address for surveys but I am having a difficult time with the change. Tolune acknowledged my new email address (at the the email address) but continues to send my invitations to my old address. Tolune is one of my top 3 because I qualify and get paid cash and I don’t want to create a situation where I stop getting their invitations.
January 8th, 2010 at 10:05 am
I am going to create folders so I can save the survey invitations (but since I’m not getting many invitations at my new email address I disenchanted). So far the only site that is regularly send me my invitation to my new address is Opinion Central. I like the surveys on Opinion Central but it is a “points” only system and the prize list is dismay. I had planned to stop doing their surveys so I miss less of the cash surveys.

What are the Ingredients for the Ideal Survey Site?
by LapisLee
I think there are many factors that make a survey site ideal. I have outlined several things that I look for in a paid survey panel and made references to online survey sites that embody these qualities. Ann,
About MyCokeRewards, I just save some tops until I have at least twelve and enter all at once. There is a plastic film you can remove so the letter/numbers are clearer. I started to save because I saw some rewards like one year magazine subscriptions and got one for Harper Bazaar recently.

Lee,
I have recently started joining the survey network, and your advice is most welcome. You have taken this whole thing to the next level, and it’s great to see someone who is so willing to freely share the information. God Bless you and I hope to learn more from your insight.

Global Test Market actually now offers many sweepstakes-only surveys.

Lenora,
Welcome to the life of online surveys! My experience has taught me:
1) If the approximate time limit for a survey is over 35 minutes, do not take it. This is not a global suggestion because I’m sure many people don’t mind longer surveys but I lose focus after 35 minutes. So, the lesson learned: Know my limitations.
2)When anticipating a payout, be patient. The money I earn taking surveys isn’t going to buy me a condo in FL, but I’m very happy to take interesting surveys and then receive a $5 or $10 check every few weeks. So the lesson learned: Accept the operating procedures of online survey websites. I have the opportunity to discontinue membership if I feel I am not being fairly compensated for my time.

Lee is so organized he movitated me to create a Survey Spreadhead. I’m keeping track of points or dollars earned (per website) and recording the date when I request a payout. I can live with waiting for payment but, if the payment never arrives, good-bye to that website.
January 13th, 2010 at 10:40 pm
I have an experience in 2009 I thought the group might find interesting. Unfortunately, it was before I became organized and I cannot remember the survey site. What was memorable was when I went to ‘cash” out, the options were dismal. I finally found a mass merchandise store where I don’t normally shop but didn’t have an objections to shopping there so I requested my payout in the form of a gift certificate to this store. Well, I waited and waited and waited and it started to become a family joke because when I got this gift certificate I was going to purchase a new shower curtain. Probably four or more months after I made the payout request, I received a VISA Cash Card with a note that the store I had originally requested was no longer participating! Sometimes you just have to laugh……

Lee, the grammar and spelling Nazi, is really going to be on my case, if I don’t start more carefully proof reading (is that one word or two?, my posts before submitting.

I HAVE BEEN DOING SURVEYS FOR ABOUT A YEAR, BUT HAVEN’T EVEN MADE ENOUGH TO REQUEST A CHECK.
I DO SURVEYS FOR ABOUT 15 DIFFERENT SITES, MOST WANT TO GIVE YOU ENTRIES INTO THEIR DRAWINGS AND OTHERS WANT YOU TO TAKE THE SURVEYS FOR POINTS, BUT YOU HAVE TO HAVE ABOUT A MILLION POINTS TO EVEN REDEEM THEM FOR ANYTHING GOOD. I JUST WANT TO MAKE SOME EXTRA MONEY SO I CAN BUY STUFF FOR MY 11 GRANDCHILDREN (AND OF COARSE MYSELF!)

I haven’t updated this list since August 2009, but will do so before the end of the month. It should give you a good idea of the survey sites you should be a member of.
Top Ten Survey Sites
——————————————————————————–
1. SurveySpot $399.80 ($5 payout) (Invokes) (product trials) (Joined: 2008-01-30) ($399.80 received – rec’d) ($22.21 per month average)
SurveySpot is my Number One survey site because: 1) I have earned the most money with them, 2) their surveys arrive daily, 3) they are accurate in their estimated times of completion, 4) they send payments via PayPal, 5) they resolve all disputes and even give you the incentive for any survey that you failed to complete for most reasons if you email them promptly with the survey number, 6) they have a lot of interactive panels, 7) they offer paid product trials and
they do not use OTX.
2. Global Test Market $304.50 (1000 = $50) ($10 po) (2008-03-01) ($304.50 rec’d) ($17.91 per month average)
GTM is definitely the best points site and you can earn a lot of money with them. The 1000 point $50 pay out point is reasonable because their incentives are good, I receive three to four surveys per week and qualify for most. You receive 5 points ($0.05) for attempting a survey. I am expecting another $50 check from them within the next week.
3. YourFreeSurveys $286 ($30 po) (PayPal) (2008-03-01) ($280 rec’d) ($60 from contests) ($16.82 per month average)
I am biased in favor of YourFreeSurveys because I am a moderator on their forum, but they do have daily surveys for $1.05 (OTX) and $0.90 (GiveUsYour2Cents), send occasional surveys that pay and hold frequent contests for $200-300, which I have won three times. They also offer PayPal, which means fast payments and they have Heath, the customer service representative who also administers the YFS forum.
4. Opinion Outpost $258.60 ($5 po) (2008-02-04) ($242.50 rec’d) ($11 requested – req’d) ($14.37 per month average)
Opinion Outpost is a solid #4 favorite survey site because: 1) they send paid surveys frequently, 2) their surveys are well compensated, 3) their screening process is excellent so I qualify for most surveys and 4) customer service is excellent. One drawback is that they now offer surveys from OTX.
5. Valued Opinions $161.15 ($20 po) (Amazon gift certificates – gc) (2008-02-18) ($140.15 rec’d) ($10.07 per month average)
If you like Amazon gift certificates then you will like Valued Opinions as you can earn them faster here than anywhere else. Nothing else even comes close. I will cash out again for another $20 Amazon gift certificate within the next week.
6. Paid Survey Reviews $140 (PayPal) (2009-02-10) ($140 rec’d) ($23.33 per month average)
Paid Survey Rewards is the best kept secret among online survey takers. They don’t offer any surveys at all, but their weekly survey review contest awards two (and sometimes three) people $10 each for the best written review. In the interests of full disclosure I am now also being compensated for writing guest blog entries on their site.
7. Greenfield Online $108 (PayPal) (Invokes) (2008-02-13) ($107 rec’d) ($6.75 per month average)
In spite of all of the problems that Greenfield forum members bicker over about such as non-payments, disqualifications (occasionally at the very end of a survey), not being compensated enough, failure to credit sweepstakes entries, etc. Greenfield offers a lot of Invoke Interactive panels and no one forces you to take any of their surveys for a sweepstakes entry. They also offer PayPal, which is a much faster method of receiving payments and they have no minimum pay out point. I only know of one other survey site (YFS) that offers an active forum where you can air your grievances and where there is a dedicated moderator to actively answer your questions on a personal basis in a timely fashion.
8. InboxDollars $101.10 ($30 po) (2008-02-01) ($92.10 rec’d) ($9 processing fees for three payments) ($5.62 per month average)
9. HCD $97.65 ($10 po) (1000 = $10 po) (2008-02-27) ($87.65 rec’d) ($10.20 req’d) ($6.10 per month average)
InboxDollars and SendEarnings are both owned by Cotter-Web Enterprises and administered by Greenfield Online; however, they are basically the same so I list them together. They are essentially trial offer sites, but you can also make a fair amount of money from taking $0.50 surveys. Forget about clicking on emails for $0.02 each because that only amounts to about $2 extra per month per site. You can also make money from playing games and referrals, but the games take too long to earn anything and referrals don’t amount to much. No one likes the $3 processing fee or waiting a month for the first check to be ‘processed’, but once you are a Gold Member they process your checks weekly. The $30 pay out minimum is too high, the trial offers are mostly gone after the third check and I will be unsubscribing to both as soon as I reach the next cash-out.
10. Daily Survey Panel $95.75 (1000 = $10) (PayPal) (2008-06-08) ($95.75 rec’d) ($6.84 per month average)
This company has really grown on me. You get daily email invitations (or you can check them online) and depending on how many other sites you are a member of that also use OTX (Greenfield Online, GlobalTestMarket, Mindfield, OpinionOutpost, SurveyHead and YourFreeSurveys) and GiveUsYour2Cents (Quick Rewards [the owner of the DSP site] and YourFreeSurveys) you will be able to earn up to $1.85 per day or more. They are always adding new surveys weekly. Customer service is excellent.

Hello all. I’m not sure but there might be another member whose first name is Anne. So, I use YogaPrincess when I post here.
When I first started reading the blog Survivor Guide to Online Surveys, I didn’t know the connection with Your Free Surveys. So, in case anyone else is confused, Your Free Surveys is a separate website. At Your Free Surveys (YFS) simply register and you are eligible to begin taking surveys. YFS is free (in case you missed that in the name!) but you should never pay to join a survey company or to obtain a list of legimate survey websites.
Survival Guide to Online Surveys is a separate blog. I highly recommend it to all survey takers. I am a subscriber and receive an email when there is a new post. The Survival Guide to Online Surveys has a list of all the legimate websites and you can read what other members have to say about a specific site or start a new thread by asking your own question.

I’m so sorry, guys! I just wrote a blog post about the delay and my major power, internet and computer issues resulting from the snow storm around here. I’ve just now gotten my computer back up and running, so I’m working furiously to have the contest winners announced by tommorrow. I apologize for the inconvenience and the wait!
