Casablanca (1942)

Casablanca (1942) is widely cited as the greatest film of all time and was voted as such by readers of the Los Angeles Daily News in 1997. It is also regarded the "best Hollywood movie of all time" by the influential Leonard Maltin's Movie Guide. On April 7, 2006, the Writers' Guild of America declared Casablanca's screenplay the best ever written.

North By Northwest (1959)

North by Northwest was nominated for three Academy Awards for Film Editing (George Tomasini), Art Direction (Robert F. Boyle), and Original Screenplay (Ernest Lehman). The film also won, for Lehman, a 1960 Edgar Award for Best Motion Picture Screenplay. It is #40 on the American Film Institute's 100 Years...100 Movies, #4 on its 100 Years...100 Thrills. In June 2008, the AFI revealed its "Ten top Ten"—the best ten films in ten "classic" American film genres—after polling over 1,500 people from the creative community. North by Northwest was acknowledged as the seventh best film in the mystery genre.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975)

Today, the film is considered to be one of the greatest American films and is ranked at number 33 on the American Film Institute's list of AFI's 100 Years... 100 Movies, Nurse Ratched was ranked number 5 on the Institute's list of 50 Greatest Villains, and the film is currently rated #7 on the Internet Movie Database (out of 250).

Default I NEVER heard of them,

and probably NEVER will. Those movies are ancient history since they are black and white. Well don't you like any modern movies like the show 24 where's there action and NO Romance.

Here are some more movies I like
Transformers- I can't wait for Transformers 2 which will most likely happen next year.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Default My favorite movie

My favorite is Lord of the Rings too I liked the movie better than the books, but in the case of Harry Potter it's the reverse. I liked the books, more than the movies. They messed up somewhat in the movies

By the way i watched Indiana Jones and the kingdom of the crystal skull, and it really did not meet my expectations. Especially the ending, with all the aliens, which i thought was, really stretching it a bit toooooo far.

I mostly like fantasy movies, with wizards and magic, and also superhero movies like Supermn, Batman, Etc. Can't wait to see Hancock A superhero, who is a loser, and a drunk? That is definitely worth a watch.

I would like to direct a movie too, some day

The Wizard of Oz (1939 - first color film)

The film has gained many listings from the American Film Institute (AFI). In 1997, the AFI ranked The Wizard of Oz sixth on its "100 Greatest Movies" list; in its Tenth Anniversary Edition, it was rated tenth. Two songs from the film are on AFI's 100 years, 100 songs list ("Over the Rainbow" at #1 and "Ding, Dong, the Witch is Dead" #82). In 2006, this film ranked #3 on their list of best musicals. In 1999, Entertainment Weekly released a guide celebrating the greatest films ever made, with The Wizard of Oz listed in the top 10. In addition, a 2005 poll by the AFI ranked Dorothy's line "Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore" as the fourth most memorable line in cinema history. It was also placed at number 86 on Bravo's 100 Scariest Movie Moments.

Psycho (1960)

Psycho was nominated for four Academy Awards: Best Supporting Actress (Janet Leigh), Direction (Alfred Hitchcock), Black and White Cinematography (John Russell), and Black and White Art Direction-set decoration (Joseph Hurley, Robert Clatworthy; George Milo). It did not win any Academy awards, though Leigh did win a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress, and Perkins tied for best actor in an award from the International Board of Motion Picture Reviewers. Stefano was nominated for two writing awards by Edgar Allan Poe Awards and the Writers Guild of America; he won the former only. Hitchcock was nominated for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Motion Pictures by the Directors Guild of America. In 1992, this film was deemed "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant" by the United States Library of Congress and selected for preservation in their National Film Registry.

It is represented in the following of the American Film Institute's lists:

#18 on the list of the 100 Greatest American Movies.
#1 on the list of the 100 Most Thrilling Movies Ever.[28]
Norman Bates was ranked the second best villain on their list of the 50 Best villains in cinema history.
The music in the film was ranked #4 in the list of the 25 best film scores of all time.
Norman's famous line "A boy's best friend is his mother" was 56th on the list of the 100 Most memorable movie quotes in history.

The Godfather I (1972)

The Godfather received Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Adapted Screenplay, and has been selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry. In addition, it is ranked as the second greatest film in American cinematic history, behind Citizen Kane on the AFI's 100 Years... 100 Movies (10th Anniversary Edition) list by the American Film Institute. It is also ranked #1 on Internet Movie Database's Top 250 list, as well as #1 on Metacritic's top 100 list and in the top 10 on Rotten Tomatoes' all-time best list.

Default American Pie Presents: The Naked Mile

American Pie Presents: The Naked Mile is a 2006 comedy film released directly to DVD on December 19, 2006. After the commercial success of the direct-to-DVD production, American Pie Presents: Band Camp, Universal Studios Home Entertainment decided to produce another sequel to the American Pie film. This film is the second in the American Pie Presents series, and fifth in the overall American Pie series.

The Naked Mile of the title refers to a real event that was carried out annually by students of the University of Michigan until 2004. University of Michigan's naked mile traditionally occurred on the last day of classes each school year. The participants, mostly senior students, would run or bike a pre-designed course through campus while partially or entirely nude. The last "Naked Mile" was in 2004 after the University worked hard to end the tradition through arrests and threats to students who ran. Participation in the event also reportedly suffered as it attracted the attention of internet pornography operations.

Default Pulp Fiction

Pulp Fiction (1994)

"Pulp Fiction" is one of those roller-coasters of a movie. It is both a joy and a trial to sit through. Amazingly original and unforgettable, Quentin Tarantino's trash masterpiece never gets old or seem outdated. It put a face on American independent film making in 1994. Miramax had been around since the 1970s and no one had heard of it before this film. Studios went into a panic when this film came out because they knew it would be an amazing hit. Of course it was. Independent film making became the rage and hit its peak in 1996 when four of the five nominated Best Picture films were from independent studios. The screenplay and direction by Tarantino are quite amazing, but the cast makes the film work. John Travolta (Oscar nominated) re-invented his career with this film. Bruce Willis cemented his celebrity. Samuel L. Jackson and Uma Thurman (both Oscar nominees) became marketable superstars. Others who make appearances include: Ving Rhames, Christopher Walken, Eric Stoltz, Rosanna Arquette, Steve Buscemi, Frank Whaley, Harvey Keitel, and of course Quentin Tarantino himself. They all leave lasting impressions as well. Samuel L. Jackson stood out the most to me, his lack of substantial screen time may have cost him the Oscar. Just an amazing accomplishment, all involved deserve recognition. Easily 5 stars out of 5.

Default American Pie Presents: Beta House

American Pie Presents: Beta House is a 2007 comedy film that was shot in Toronto and Hamilton (some scenes at McMaster University), Ontario. This film is the third in the American Pie Presents series, and sixth in the overall American Pie series.

Quote:
Plot
"Beta House" reunites most of the The Naked Mile cast and places them in the college setting, working to defend Dwight Stifler's Beta Delta Xi (ΒΔΞ) Fraternity against rival fraternity Epsilon Sigma Kappa (GΕΣΚ). While defending the house, Erik Stifler's new love, Ashley (Meghan Heffern), feels that the fraternity is nothing but trouble.

"Beta House" picks up where the Naked Mile left off. Erik and Cooze are attending their first year at college, and Dwight Stifler brings the boys into the Beta fraternity. In this film Erik is no longer with Tracy, his girlfriend in the last film, she has left him for Trent and is not in the film. The boys go through a long list of trials to get into the Beta fraternity. They end up being challenged by the GEEKs for their house to end their feud once and for all. Dwight wants to put an end to the Geeks who keep messing with the Beta traditions. In the end the Beta house beats the GEEKs and take their mansion house making them the dominant house once again. Mr. Levenstein is Dwight's lawyer and a former Beta, so he makes his appearance in the film.
