I can't really give two thumbs up to Focus Forward Online (https://www.focusfwdonline.com) because I have only received and qualified for one survey since February 25, 2008 when I joined. Maybe I just don't fit the demographic of what they are looking for, but I have $1 to show for the past four months. Their surveys pay between $1 and $5 and you must have $10 in your account before you request a check, which takes 3-4 weeks to arrive according to their website. Here is the basic info in case you would like to give them a try.
Q: What is the difference between Focus Forward Online and Focus Forward?
A: Focus Forward Online allows you to take surveys via e-mail in the comfort of your own home at your convenience. These opportunities usually pay between $1.00-$5.00. Focus Forward allows you to participate in focus groups, telephone interviews or product testing. These opportunities require more effort on your part: going to a focus group facility, spending time on the phone with an interviewer or completing a homework assignment. The compensation for these focus groups range between $75-$250.

I joined this Focus Forward when I saw it on Lee's Earning Report. I have only received one email survey from them. I think it was a $4 survey about beverages but unfortunately I was unable complete the survey after my browser closed.
When I attempt to log in to my account, a message appears says that I have not confirmed my membership. That message should not appear because I have already received a survey from them.

I haven't had a good experience with this panel because I have received and qualified for one survey since I joined. But unlike Lee, I didn't have a chance to complete that survey because my that survey had to be completed in my sitting.
Here is some information on this panel
Focus Forward Online is a leader in the online market research industry. By using cutting edge web based and back-end technology, Focus Forward Online allows companies to improve their products and services by learning more about their customers' needs and preferences.
For every project, we utilize our nationwide Internet Panel, covering a wide range of demographics across many criteria. Today I attempted to log in to my Focus Forward Account but I could not access it because a message appeared. It said "Please activate your account first by following the directions on the activation email." I shouldn't be getting this message because I have are received one survey from Focus Fw Online and I am should I already activated my account. Please help me access my account for the first time.
Thank you
I first sent them that email on 6/29, but they didn't respond so I send it again on Saturday. It you contact a website's customer service and they don't respond then don't give up. Keep on sending them messages until they give you the attention you deserve.

I think this survey site is one that really needs to step up to the plate. Until I hear something positive from anyone else I am not going to bother with it. No point in unsubscribing to sites that don't send survey invitations very often, but also no reason to include them in my Top Ten Best Paying Surveys list.

I joined both of these about 2 months ago. The survey part of it is slow, 5 surveys in 2 months $24. But, I have gotten 6 Telephone survey for $75 each. Qualified for 2. Paid in 2 weeks both times. You really need to know the way to "butter th system" if you are going to make good money on any site. I bring in bout $200 to $300 every month doing ether surveys or focus groups. hat is no bull-crap either. I'm disabled, and have the time. I spend no less then 4 hours per day on line weeding through the good and bad, the ones that pay and the one that don't. You do need to "butter the system" if your going to make good money at it.

Don't you hate long, boring redundant surveys that squeeze in questions about 20 different brands on page after page of checking 50+ boxes? Even for $4 this Focus Forward survey is driving me insane! After about 45 minutes it makes me want to not only just start checking random boxes but also to NEVER buy ANY of these stupid diet cola drinks. Survey companies need to realize that on simple check the boxes type surveys on boring subjects like cola drinks, credit cards or insurance without any graphics people's eyes glaze over after about 45 minutes no matter how much you pay them. It's nice that the average time to complete this survey is 35 minutes, but I am pretty quick at filling out surveys and I am past the one hour mark already on this one. This survey is NOT fun.
Dear Lee,
You have been invited to participate in a fun online survey about your favorite drinks!
If you successfully COMPLETE this 35 minute survey (avg), $4.00 will be deposited in your account.

Focus forward does give you the opportunity to express your opinion on the survey that you just took and I gave them a big kick in the pants about what I thought about the survey that I just finished. Any other survey company employees out there might be wise to heed my comments (or I might just be cranky today because I am running low on food at the end of the month and don't get paid until Friday!) Even with the $4 added to my account this only moves Focus Forward up to #28 in my top 40 survey sites, which is not that great!
Survey companies need to learn that even if they only send out one survey per month it should be interesting and not too long. I personally do not really drink colas or diet drinks and to fill out page after page of long repetitive questions on drinks that I do not personally consume, scrolling back and forth from left to right and up and down the page for nearly an hour is just barely worth the $4 incentive, if at all.
Combining questions on 20 or more beverages in several different categories is really unfair to the respondant and also skews your data as most people's eyes glaze over after about 45 minutes of checking 50+ boxes per page with very few graphics or any attempt to make the survey more interesting. You do not tailor the survey to the respondant's answers and never give the respondant a chance to express their own opinions on the beverages they prefer or the ones that the survey is actually interested in with their own words.
I would suggest taking a long hard look at the survey software or company providing the survey software if you want better, more accurate answers to these types of questions. Scrolling back and forth from left to right and scrolling down the page are time consuming and make for a much less enjoyable experience for the respondant. Having said that, thank you for the opportunity to express my opinion and for the incentive.

I just received the above survey email in my hotmail account.
We are currently recruiting respondents to participate in a paid in-home/office interview scheduled to take place Tuesday November 17th through Wednesday November 26th in the area. Compensation for the 2 hour in-person interview is $200. Please click on the below link and answer a few screening questions to determine if you qualify for this study.
If you appear to qualify based on your answers, a Focus Forward representative will contact you with additional questions.
Please Note: You may have already received an invitation for this study. If you have already completed the survey, please disregard this email as you are unable to take the survey again.
In this the highest reward I have been offered for participating in a market research study. But I don't think I will qualify for this survey because they asked questions like this:
"Does you company use landline phones for business? "

I did recently complete a focus group with Focus Forward - for $200.00 - but it wasn't a in a single interview. I earned my $200.00 in a 3 week blogging project. I received a check as payment about 2 weeks after the project's conclusion.

We are currently recruiting respondents to participate in a paid video diary and telephone interview. A video camera will be sent to you prior to the project's start.
Compensation for the 30-minute phone interview and video diary is $250. Please click on the below link and answer a few screening questions to determine if you qualify for this study.
I don't think they will call me since the questions were not valid for me, but you never know...

Another site that I really thought held promise was FocusForward. I only earned $9 with them last year and they sent me this reply to a problem I encountered with a $1 survey recently.
I am getting an ‘unexpected error’ when I try to attempt this survey.

Hello Lee,
We would like to apologize for any inconvenience on this survey as this is not a common occurrence. Our client’s server experienced an error which caused a problem with the survey. We are taking the appropriate steps to remedy the situation, however given your previous attempt at accessing the link for this survey we will be unable to process any further attempts. Focus Forward does indeed appreciate your patience at this time and thanks you for your attempted participation. If you have further questions please feel free to write back.

Dear Claudia,
That’s about what I would expect from FocusForward. Most of the larger survey companies will compensate you for their mistakes, but I understand that you cannot control your client’s errors. Thanks for the $9 that I earned last year and hopefully I will be able to earn another $1 and cash out eventually. Read my reviews of FocusForward and other survey sites here:

I have a scheduled in home interview next week for Focus Fwd. Can anyone give me an idea what to expect? How in-depth do they get in their questions? Is it just like the questions that are asked online or is it way different? Obviously it depends on the subject, but just wanted to know what some experiences you have had. I see in Eddie's history that he has participated in one.

Hi Karenlou,
Yes, it does depend on the issue that they are contacting you about. Sometimes they will have you be on the phone and also on the computer and give your opinions about some product they have in mind. The surveys are quite easy and you will feel very comfortable with whoever you are talking to. I did (2) surveys so far and I would be willing at anytime to do another. Just relax and enjoy, it will all come easy to you.

After Focus Fwd rescheduling the day twice now they also wanted to move the time. The new time would not work for me so they cancelled it. It would have been interesting. Maybe I'll have another one come up in the future.
