I joined Reward TV (http://www.yesfree.com/clicktracker/c.php?k=1.203.17) about a month ago through a Yourfreesurveys evaluation survey, as many of you may have. It was easy to join, and the concept was appealing. I love watching TV and movies, so answering trivia questions for points sounded like fun.
The verdict on this one is as follows. It is fun to play the games. If you are a trivia buff, you’ll find loads of stuff to keep you occupied. I found it to be entertaining. There are plenty of sweepstakes entries for your trouble. So if you are feeling lucky, then by all means, you should join this site. If, however, you want to be paid in cash or gift certificates for your trouble, you may be barking up the wrong tree.
The good news about Reward TV is that you can earn a gazillion points without much effort. The problem with it is that you have to bid on the rewards. On certain days, rewards go up for bids, and apparently there are so many people trying to bid for them that the value of your points drops considerably. The other way to redeem your points is by a “shopping spree” at a certain time. For instance, there is a Pier 1 $10 gift card “on sale” April 29th at 5PM. If you aren’t available at that particular time, you may as well forget about having a chance at it. That doesn’t mean that if you are rip roaring and ready to go that you’ll get it either. There are so many people trying to get so few rewards at one time that it’s nearly impossible to find a way to redeem the points that you do have. Maybe I’m just slow, but I’d love to hear from any of you who have successfully gotten a reward!

I joined though a MyPoints offer back in about two years ago. When I first joined I only took about two or three games every other day, but now I take the max of five games per day and on Sunday and Monday I take more than 10 games depending on how many are available.
Right Now I'm taking a trviia game and I have a total of 6,118,200 in my account. I could bid on an item in the auction section if I reallly wanted but I will wait until I get at least 8,000,000.

a total of 19300 points by completing five games and taking one of their surveys. I earned more than 3000 points in three out of the five games. In one of those games I earned 4600 points. I currently have more than 6,300,000 in my RewardTV account. I STILL have many more games to play until I have a respectable amount of points so I can bid for a prize in the auctions.

That depends on what is on the Auctions list (http://rewardtv.com/rewards/auctions.sdo). It changes every month and some of the products cost over $100 if they were bought in a store like Wal-Mart.
One of the items that is currently on the auction list is worth over $150. I currenly have more than the highest bid for that item. So I guess you can say that 6.5 million is worth $150.

I know you are saving up 100,000 points with Polling Point for that $100, but what are you saving up your 6.5 million points on Reward TV to buy? I think the Porsche goes for only 3 billion points.

To tell you the truth, I have no idea. The auctions are always changing so there is always something that I could use my points on but it does match how much my points are worth so I wait until something better shows up. The highest points I have EVER seen put towards a prize is 10 million points. That item was something I would want but I didn't have enough points at that time.

Oh come on Eddie. Do you really want this? They retail for $259.95 and 8.55 million points is worth $197.31. 10 million points, by your calculations, would be worth $230.77.

There is NO WAY I will WASTE my points on that inferior piece of machinery.
Anyway how did you come up with 8.55 million points equaling $197.31? To tell you the truth, I have NO IDEA how much points are worth in real money. It's really hard to find that out since it can all change depending on items and other factors. Plus I NEVER thought about how much my points are worth so I don't really care about that.

Universal backwards compatibility means that a video game system play all previous games of the previous systems. There are many version of the PS3 some have PS2 and PS1 compatibility and others don't.
The definition of backward compatibility according to Wikipedia
In technology, especially computing (irrespective of platform), a product is said to be backward compatible when it is able to take the place of an older product, by interoperating with products that were designed for the older product.

Today I received the email below about my points:
Dear RewardTV Member,
Please note that Points earned on or after January 1, 2006 will
expire pursuant to the terms and conditions of our Rewards Program Rules:
http://www.rewardtv.com/help/rules.sdo?rl=tvpt
Accordingly, Points earned during 2007 all will expire on December 31, 2008.
Our records indicate that as of November 5, 2008 at 10:00 AM,
your account balance was:
9059500 Points.
Based on the above account balance, calculated on November 5, 2008 at 10:00 AM, 3175900 Points will be deducted from your account on December 31, 2008.
Note: If you have spent Points since November 5, 2008 at 10:00 AM, those expenditures have NOT been reflected in this email, but will be reflected on December 31, 2008 when your final points expiration is calculated.
In addition, if your account has had no activity for the past six (6) calendar months, any Points held in your account will expire as of December 31, 2008.
Thank you again for your continued support!
Sincerely,
The RewardTV Team
TV Just Got Better! (TM)
Here is what that means: I will have no choice but to redeem a auction reward before my points expire. Here is the prize I will most likey bid for...
http://www.rewardtv.com
I will place my final bid the day before auction closes or the next day before 10. I think I will only use less than 3.2 million point to redeem this price so I can easily redeem another one later.

Today I placed a bid for the first time on the RewardTV Auctions page. First I entered 4,500,000, then the message "You have been out bid" appeared". That meant I need to bid high to be the top bider. So I entered 4,750,000, and I noticed that I was now ranked #1 and my point had been subtracted from my account. The bid is 4,517,405 and if for some unlikely reason I am out bided, my points will be returned to my account.
I am using my points now because 3175900 of my points will expire at the end of this year as seen on the comment above.
Before I placed this bid, I had 9,627,100 in my account.

5 million points for a video game? Heavenly Sword is $20 brand new on eBay right now. Was it really worth it? How many hours did it take you to earn those points?
HELL YEAH!! it was worth every single freakin point. I have NEVER bought anything from ebay and mostly likey NEVER will since it's an auction site which I do not like. The same game is available from Best Buy and GameStop for $59.99 so that is the exactly value this game. That means the 4,870,305points is worh $60. I saw people biding 5 million points plus for a $25 best buy gift card. Now you tell which is the better duel?
My original plans was to bid all my points for a 80 GB PS3 but that was impossible because about 3 million of my points were going to expire by the end of this year. So I used my points to bid on a the only item that fits my interest. In the end, the person who was the PS3 bided over 13 million to win that console.
And of course I can NO idea how many hours it took to earn those points since I NEVER keep track of how many hours I use RewardTV. But I can tell you this: I THINK I have been a member of Reward TV since Oct 06 after I joined though MyPoints.com. And once again it was worth it because I am what some people call a Hardcore gamer meaning I live and breath videogames until The End of Time. More specially, I'm a Playstation fan since '96...
In The End I would recommend, RewardTV for people who have a lot patience and tolerance and enjoy being rewarded after all their hard work.

Yes it's true that I currently do not own a Playstation 3 (http://us.playstation.com). BUT I will have it by the end of this year. I currently have over $600 in my PayPal account that I could use to buy the PS3 but I not goint to do that. I think using a Mastercard is more convenient for this purchase and will most likely buy it in stores instead of online since I do NOT want to wait for shipping.
I will get Heavenly Sword in 10-12 weeks for shipping to so by that time I WILL own a Playstation 3

Thanks.. I picked this game out of the other games that were available because it seems like Heavenly Sword will have an interesting story to tell. I prefer games that tell a unique story like God of War and the Ratchet & Clank Series. If I wouldn't have bid on this item then I probably would have won Heroes Season 2 DVD .
By the way, I noticed that on the GTM blog post you will soon be playing Wii. I think most people who buy a Wii are usually casual gamers and people who prefer PS3 or XBox are most likely hardcore gamers. But of course that is not always true.
And I agree with the sharp objects thing. Just look at the picture below

Yeah your right, But I think I will pass on Wii because I have NEVER really been a big fan of the Nintendo franchise. The only Nintendo products I have are GBC and GBA. I rarely even play those portable consoles since I have a PSP. Plus I don't really like the controller even though it is very innovative and unique. I prefer the amazing reality of PS3 gameplay powered by the Cell.
This picture kinda sums how I feel about Playstation 3 being the most superior console currently available...

I think your wireless connection doesn't work because you need wireless router to connect. I also have no choice but to unplug the 10BASE-T DSL cable out of my computer and place it on the PS3 LAN connector. I also have to disconnect the phone cable and the Ethernet modem. That takes quite a while. I need a DSL router to be able to connect to internet with a PC and PS3 at the same time. I might consider purchasing that in the future.
