Greenfield Online (http://www.yourfreesurveys.com/links.php?id=4) is one of the most paradoxical survey sites online. Yes, they do send out more surveys than anyone else, but most are for sweepstakes entries and very few people qualify for the rest. Yes, they do have more members than any other survey company, but I am guessing very few remain active for long. They also have an online forum, but most of the people there are either complaining about the lack of paid surveys or simply basking in the fellowship of their friends who have also been long-suffering members of Greenfield Online. I would like to point out that very few survey companies even have a forum for their members to complain and that the support staff on the forum are very helpful.
The good news is that after you have taken a few of their surveys you are occasionally asked to participate in Invoke Interactives, which are online real-time surveys that pay from $10 to $100. Just one of these can make a huge difference, which is why I am still a member of Greenfield Online. There are also frequent sweepstakes with one $2500, one $1000 and five $100 winners. Only one member of their forum has ever won anything that I am currently aware of and it was $100 several years ago.
Since February 13, 2008 I have earned $27.00 and requested a check for $21.25 on May 1, which arrived on June 14, 45 days after I requested it. They also have a Paypal option now, which is considerably quicker. There is no minimum cash out point. Over half of my earnings are from one Interactive Invoke that paid $15. Here is more information:
Greenfield Online serves the online data collection needs of the largest research companies in the industry and help companies get closer to their consumers by gathering consumer feedback. We serve the needs of more than 300 marketing research firms and are considered one of the leading online panel companies in the industry. Since 1994, Greenfield Online has been providing consumers, like you, with the ability to voice their opinions by participating in online research surveys and focus groups. We realized that the Internet is an ideal environment for consumers to speak out and be heard as they can participate at their leisure - rather than respond to ill-timed or intrusive telephone surveys. We continue to improve upon our survey technology. We can now conduct commercial segment testing, long-term diary studies, and 3D shelf displays all while ensuring that respondents can easily participate!

I've been a member since february of this year and I've only qualified for a $2 survey with them.
They paid me through paypal fast :)
I never do the surveys for sweepstakes,
I'm playing everyday the "green giveaway" to see if I win the "$25 giftcard offered".

Doesn't it bother you when you receive a paid survey email invitation from them (Greenfield) and you click on the link and go to a page that says ARE YOU "MAPLAVER" YES OR NO and you click YES and then it tells you I'M SORRY, YOU DON'T QUALIFY. Why bother sending me the email then???

As a matter of fact that is one thing that the Greenfield Online forum members constantly complain about, but I think it is a matter of the company paying Greenfield to direct survey-takers to their surveys wanting to verify the profile information without checking the Greenfield profile database first. At some point I will make a Top Ten Complaints About Greenfield Online and post it here.

I don't deal with Greenfield or participate in any of their surveys anymore - whether I am invited directly from them or redirected via an invitation from another company.
My biggest complaint was the sheer volume of surveys they sent that I was instantly disqualified from - by just entering my age and gender I would receive an disqualification message. Geesh, don't they have that info already. That drove me crazy!
Aside from the myriad of complaints as a panelist, I came across numerous articles about "shady" business practices. You can Google the info if you want - but it breaks down to this, the SEC investigated Greenfield (they are a publicly traded company listed as SRVY) and found that some top level executives had been misrepsenting information about Greenfield Online. Firstly, Greenfield acquired Ciao and over stated the value of that company significantly in order to push up the company's share prices. A lawsuit was brought against Greenfield by the shareholders basically stating that Greenfield made numerous false and misleading statements to increase their stock value.
Of course Greenfield denied it all and came out swinging but an internal audit determined that portions of the accusations were in fact true. Of course they are blaming a few employees and the basic corporate cover up is happening, but the gist of it rings true. As a panelist I never much enjoyed dealing with Greenfield and once these articles started appearing I really began to think twice about dealing with them. If they are willing to bilk their investors, what are they willing to do to their panel members?
To copy one of the many articles about this March 2008:
"Greenfield Online is bracing itself for costs of up to $3.5m in the first quarter for legal and other fees relating to a pending lawsuit against it, as well as stemming from an investigation into its internal practices. The firm also says its own investigation has found some evidence of accounting errors.
Last summer, two lawsuits were filed on behalf of shareholders. One alleged that the size of an online panel was misrepresented, and the other suggested that financial projections in 2005 were ‘false and misleading’.
Since this time, the firm says that an internal investigation led by the audit committee of its Board of Directors has found there was no evidence for the claim relating to the size of the panel.
However, Greenfield says that the investigation did reveal evidence that certain company employees engaged in ‘inappropriate activity’ that was inconsistent with its revenue recognition policies. While this activity resulted in accounting errors that affected Greenfield’s previously reported financial statements, the company says that that the errors misstated net income by less than 1% in 2005, 2006 and 2007 and are ‘inconsequential to annual financial statement’.
The firm will continue to defend itself against both complaints, but says that it does not believe that any adverse judgment against it in such proceeding will have a material adverse impact on the company. All defendants will respond to the complaint on or before April 3, 2008.
Meanwhile, Greenfield says that it intends to implement a remediation plan that will include additional training and other appropriate remedial actions in response to the findings.
The firm estimates that in the first quarter, the cost to defend the lawsuit will be between $200,000 and $250,000, while costs relating to the audit committee investigation will be about $3m to $3.5m. Part of the costs may be covered by insurance. "
Needless to say, I am through with Greenfield!
( Just my two cents :) )

Good post. Here is one link to their financial information and the settlement:
Greenfield Online Reports First Quarter 2008 Financial Results: Company Announces Agreement in Principle to Settle Class Action Litigation (http://ir.greenfield.com/releasedetail.cfm?ReleaseID=309141)
And then there is this:
Greenfield Online Enters into Definitive Agreement to be Acquired by Quadrangle (http://ir.greenfield.com/releasedetail.cfm?ReleaseID=316702)
WILTON, Conn., Jun 16, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Greenfield Online, Inc. (Nasdaq: SRVY) ("Greenfield Online" or the "Company") today announced that it has entered into a merger agreement to be acquired by an entity affiliated with Quadrangle Group LLC (together with its affiliates "Quadrangle"), a private investment firm focused on the media and communications industries. Under the terms of the merger agreement, Quadrangle will acquire all of the outstanding common stock of Greenfield Online, Inc. for $15.50 per share in cash, or a total equity value of approximately $426 million. The purchase price represents a premium of approximately 17% over the Company's closing share price of $13.28 on June 13, 2008 and a premium of approximately 26% over the average closing share price during the prior 30 days.
The Board of Directors of Greenfield Online has unanimously approved the merger and recommends to stockholders that they vote in favor of the merger.
Albert Angrisani, Greenfield Online's President and Chief Executive Officer said: "Clearly Quadrangle values Greenfield Online's two growing and profitable businesses, Comparison Shopping and Internet Survey Solutions, along with their global leadership position, satisfied clients and talented employees. We expect the transition will be positive for our business, our customers and employees, and we look forward to leveraging Quadrangle's expertise in the media, communication and information industries."
Gordon Holmes, Managing Principal of Quadrangle said: "Having followed Greenfield Online closely over an extended period, we became increasingly impressed with its international leadership position in online comparison shopping and survey research, as well as its record of strong growth. Using our New York and London offices and our new office in Silicon Valley led by Dan Rosensweig, we were able to fully analyze and appreciate the strength of Greenfield's global platform, and determine that it represents an attractive investment opportunity for Quadrangle, consistent with our ongoing focus on the media and communications industry."
Dan Rosensweig, Operating Principal of Quadrangle said: "Greenfield Online's internet-based business differentiates itself with a strategic position based on developing strong communities and offering valuable review and survey content. I am confident that with Quadrangle's extensive experience in online businesses, we will be able to help the company to expand its activities and continue to achieve significant growth."
The merger agreement is subject to the approval of the Company's stockholders as well as customary closing conditions and regulatory approval. The transaction will be financed by a combination of equity provided by Quadrangle and debt, for which Quadrangle has received financing commitments and cash on hand at the Company. The transaction is expected to close in the late third quarter or fourth quarter of 2008.

The only thing that I have to complain about Greenfield is that they sent me long 50 minute surveys and don't reward me with cash. But I often intentionally disqualified myself from these long surveys because I will still be the same entries to sweepstakes either way. The only thing that matters is that I have over $20 with them.

I was quickly falling asleep reading that long boring Financial Report Lee posted. I really don't care about that information, but I guess it can be interesting knowing how good a survey company is performing. And I don't really care about the complains on Greenfield Online. The only thing that matter is that I have over $20 with them.
Basically, my point is this: When members of the Greenfield Online forum started complaining about not receiving enough paid surveys they started a one month promotion where every member received several quarter ($0.25) surveys. One member even reported qualifying for 19 of these for a total of $4.75. I qualified for seven out of 83 surveys that I took that month for a total of $2.75. Compare that promotion with their key financial statistics for the same period. This is 'The #1 Paid Survey Company'. Is there something wrong with this picture?
Key Financial Statistics
-- Total net revenue was $30.9 million for the first quarter of 2008 as compared with $27.5 million for the same period in the prior year for an increase of $3.4 million or 12.6% of which approximately $1.6 million or 5.7% was due to favorable currency effects.
-- For the Internet survey solutions segment, total net revenue was $20.1 million for the first quarter of 2008, including favorable currency effects, as compared with $20.7 million for the same period in the prior year, representing a decline of 3.0%.
-- For the Comparison Shopping segment, total net revenue was $10.8 million for the first quarter of 2008, including favorable currency effects, as compared with $6.8 million for the same period in the prior year for an increase of 60.3%.
-- Total gross profit was $24.1 million or 78.0% of revenues for the first quarter of 2008, as compared with $20.3 million or 74.0% of revenues for the same period in the prior year.

I have no complains about Greenfield Online.
Here are some of my statistics:
On 6/9/08 I got three paid surveys totaling $5, But I only qualified for one that paid $2
Then on 6/11 and 6/12 I got one paid survey each day.
And finaly, I got one paid survey today and yesterday.
So as you can see, I have nothing to complain about... but I do think that the quarter dollar promotion is a waste of time. I haven't gotten one of those surveys in months.

I have attempted over 500 surveys for a total earnings of $33.50 from Greenfield Online since February 13, 2008. I have only qualified for and completed 19 paid surveys. Six for a quarter ($1.50), eleven for a $1 ($11), one for $2 ($2), one for $4 ($4) and one Invoke Interactive for $15. It's possible that the unaccounted $5 was from a sign-up bonus. I still have one 'Project Open', which means it has not been closed or accounted for yet.

Today I qualified for my first interactive survey from Greenfield Online. It was a $15 computer survey that lasted 15 minutes. It was monitored and run by Invoke Solution. I think I shouldn't have qualified for this survey, but for some reason Greenfield didn't disqualify me after I answered the screener question. Oh Well! It's a win win situation for me!!

The PayPal option that Greenfield Online has been offering since April has greatly speeded up their payment process. My first check from them for $21.25 took 45 days to arrive by snail mail (USPS) and my second payment for $12.25 took three days to arrive via PayPal.

This message was on the reward page I printed out for my records.
Please allow an average of six weeks for processing. All payments requests for each month are processed together during the following month. For example, if you request a payment on the 1st or teh 30th of March, your payment will be sent in April.
Waiting six weeks is the same thing as waiting for a check, but I don't mind the wait because I prefer PayPal over a check.
When did you request your PayPal payment? Was it near the end of the month?

Today I took a LOT of surveys (more than 10), but their was only one I was really excited about. It was a Greenfield survey that was a screener for a $25 interactive survey hosted by Invoke solutions. The topic of the survey was internet and computers. I qualified for this survey and will be participating in the interactive session on July 16 at 5:30 PM.
If I take the survey, I will post my experiences in the Invoke Solution thread that Lee recently created.

From being a member of the Greenfield Online forum for the past five months, it has been my experience that more often than not there is no follow-up to this email from Greenfield Online at helpdeskbox@greenfield.com, unless you provide the exact survey number or link. Many, many members complain about this specific problem. There is a 100% chance of a follow-up if you email Angela or Caitlin.

Well I'm sure I will not qualify for this survey, but I still clicked the link. It's a survey hosted by GfK Custom Research North America. They said they survey would last 55 minutes.
I was disqualified after I answered two questions (Zip code and where I live then another KEY question). Nice!!!!!!.......hope i get something like that soon......i've had a terrible week taking surveys on here...
Greenfield Online is about to take another big step as I have completed another $25 Invoke Interactive on July 17th and expect the incentive to show up in PayPal this week. They are deservedly #3 on my list of 'Surveys That Pay!' because of the three Invoke Interactives that I have taken. The rest of the surveys over the past six months only amount to $18.50 and $4 of that was from one survey. Here is what I wrote about them on another thread:
3. Greenfield Online $63.50 (PayPal) ($63.50 rec'd)
In spite of all of the problems that Greenfield forum members bicker over about non-payments, not qualifying for enough surveys, not being compensated enough, etc. the plain fact is that Greenfield offers the second highest number of Invoke Interactive panels of any survey company, after SurveySpot, and no one is forcing you to take any of their surveys for a sweepstakes entry. They also offer PayPal, which is a much faster method of receiving payments and have no minimum pay out point. PayPal payments are processed on the 1st and 16th of each month so you should cash out about 3 days before those dates for fastest delivery times. In addition, I only know of one other survey company, YourFreeSurveys, that offers a forum where you can air your grievances and where there is a dedicated moderator to actively answer your questions on a personal basis in a timely fashion. And her name is Angela Martin. Every other survey company uses email to address disputes.

I just took a 30-minute survey (Survey Number: 1002942a) on Chicken of the Sea tuna and at the very end of the survey, after the classification questions and the screen indicating that I had successfully completed the survey, I received this reply:
Thank you for participating in this survey. You have received an entry in our latest sweepstakes! Unfortunately you did not qualify for this survey due to the specific requirements.
This is the reply from the Greenfield Online Help Desk:
Dear Lee,
Thank you very much for writing to us at Greenfield Online Panel Support. It seems that you were screened out because your profile did not fit the client’s exact needs for this project. I’m very sorry if the survey messaging did not make this clear. You could be disqualified either at the beginning, middle or at the very end of the survey, depending upon the specific requirements of our clients.
Normally, our clients require a certain number of responses from one or several groups defined by specific characteristics. For example, they might want to interview only people who regularly use Internet, or who enjoy shopping, or who hate shopping. The surveys therefore generally consist of two parts:
1) Screening questions to see if you fit this group and qualify to take the survey.
2) Questions for the qualified participants, frequently asking your opinion of products or advertisements. This is the part which the clients pay for.
Although your profile didn’t fit this particular study, we have surveys for many different types of profiles, so we will soon have one which is right for you. Please also make sure that you keep your profile complete and up to date to help us invite you to the most appropriate surveys.
Do email us if you require any further assistance, we would be more than happy to assist you.
We really appreciate your membership and continued interest in Greenfield Online surveys.

I am addressing it on the Greenfield Forum and I also replied and asked the GFO Help Desk for the precise language that they referred to ["I’m very sorry if the survey messaging did not make this clear"] that allows their client to disqualify a participant after successful completion of a paid survey. Their paid surveys are a precious few and far between without being disqualfied from the few that I qualify for after 30 minutes of effort and I do not know of any other company that has this policy. I want to see the precise language.

Microsoft to Buy Greenfield Online for $486 Million (Update4) (http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601103&sid=ad6cG1LOfmtE&refer=us)
By Phil Serafino
Aug. 29 (Bloomberg) -- Microsoft Corp., the world's biggest software maker, agreed to buy Greenfield Online Inc. and its subsidiary Ciao GmbH for about $486 million in cash to add price- comparison sites in Europe.
Greenfield shareholders will get $17.50 a share, Microsoft said today in a statement. The price is 1.4 percent more than yesterday's close, and 32 percent higher than June 13, the last trading day before Greenfield agreed to sell itself to Quadrangle Group LLC for $15.50 a share. Greenfield ended the Quadrangle deal on Aug. 26 to pursue a higher offer.
Microsoft is looking for ways to catch Google Inc. and boost its Internet business after a failed bid for Yahoo! Inc. this year. Munich-based Ciao, which provides consumer reviews and ratings along with prices from online merchants, will be integrated with Microsoft's Live Search platform, Microsoft said.
``Ultimately our goal is to create simple applications for the search areas with the biggest demand,'' said Dorothee Ritz, Microsoft's general manager for consumer and online in Germany, on a conference call. ``We have the financial means to expand in this area both organically and through acquisitions.'' Ciao gets 26.5 million unique visitors a month from seven countries, Microsoft said.
The Redmond, Washington-based company will need to spend at least $1.2 billion annually to match Google's research and development plus additional funds for marketing, Chief Executive Officer Steve Ballmer said last month.
Unit Sale
Microsoft has agreed to sell the Internet survey business of Wilton, Connecticut-based Greenfield to an unidentified financial buyer, according to Greenfield's statement. The acquisition of Greenfield isn't contingent on the sale of the survey business. Greenfield, a provider of marketing surveys to TiVo Inc., didn't identify the new bidder when it canceled the previous deal. Quadrangle had until today to revise its bid, Greenfield said this week.
Investor Pennant Capital Management LLC, which owns a 10 percent stake in Greenfield, had called the Quadrangle offer inadequate in a June 27 regulatory filing. Quadrangle will get a $5 million breakup fee. Deutsche Bank AG advised Greenfield on the sale, and Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP provided legal counsel.
Microsoft lost 26 cents, or 0.9 percent, to $27.68 at 9:40 a.m. New York time in Nasdaq Stock Market trading. Before today, the shares had dropped 22 percent this year amid concern about the Yahoo bid and spending to boost the Internet business. Greenfield shares rose 9 cents, or 0.5 percent, to $17.34. Before today, the stock had risen 18 percent this year compared with a 7.5 percent decline in the Russell 2000 Consumer Discretionary Index. Microsoft said it plans to complete the deal in the fourth quarter.

Yesterday I received a $25 survey screener for a Invoke survey. I was really surprised I received this email since I usually don't get any surveys invites on the weekends. Anyway, I qualified for this survey and will hopefully receive a link to participate in this interactive survey. I'm scheduled to take this survey this Thursday.

In order to participate in the survey, you will need to follow the instructions below. SPACES ARE LIMITED! Has anyone else noticed that Greenfield are sending out high paying surveys lately???.....i did a $10 15 minute survey on retail the other day and just today i got another $7 15 minute survey on Consumer Products. I'm not complaining or anything but this is highly unusual of them....
Yeah I have noticed that they are stepping up to the plate and are challenging other survey panels to take a spot in my top ten favorite survey sites. I think I received the same survey has you did. Here are the survey details I recorded for this survey:
9/3 10:17 AM ("The maximum number of participants from your group hae already entered this survey")
Survey On: Consumer topics
Reward: $3.00
Length: 15 Minutes (Approx.)
Survey Number: 1057055-US
Topic: Vacuum Cleaners
I have just finished watching Invoke video on how to take the survey. I have successfully entered the $30 feedback session. After I'm credited with the survey, I think I will have al most $100 in my Greenfield account. :D

Microsoft to Acquire Greenfield Online Including Its European Subsidiary Ciao, a Leading European Price Comparison and Shopping Site (http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/080829/3729449en_public.html)
Friday August 29, 1:10 am ET
- Acquisition of Ciao will expand Live Search offering in Europe.
LONDON, August 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Microsoft Corp today announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire Greenfield Online Inc, owner of Ciao GmbH, one of Europe's leading price comparison, shopping and consumer reviews sites, in a move that will further extend Microsoft's search and e-commerce services in Europe. Under the terms of the agreement, Microsoft will commence a cash tender offer to purchase all of the outstanding shares of Greenfield Online for $17.50 (US) per share in a transaction valued at approximately $486 million (US).
Ciao is a comprehensive source for intelligent shopping on the web, combining consumer reviews and ratings from a multimillion-user-strong online community with up-to-date price information from thousands of online merchants. It currently has more than 26.5 million unique visitors per month (source: comScore Inc, May 2008) across seven countries, who so far have generated more than 5 million product reviews.
The acquisition signals a further milestone investment for Microsoft in Europe and will see Microsoft increase its European commercial search capabilities as part of its intent to make Microsoft Live Search the premier destination for consumers looking to research and purchase goods and services online, as well as enable merchants to drive greater online sales.
Ciao's technology platform, online community and extensive merchant relationships will be integrated within the Live Search platform to deliver a richer, more rewarding experience for both advertisers and consumers.
In a related transaction, Microsoft has secured a buyer for Greenfield Online's Internet survey solutions, a business that has been the cornerstone of Greenfield Online since 2001. Both transactions are expected to close during the fourth quarter of 2008.
"Ciao's success has been led by a team of talented people who took a unique combination of intuitive technology and the insight that comes out of their passionate consumer community to become one of Europe's leading shopping comparison sites," said John Mangelaars, vice president, Consumer and Online, Microsoft Europe, Middle East and Africa. "This makes the company a fantastic asset to the future of our search offer. Integrating Ciao's capabilities into Live Search will provide a strong launchpad for our commercial search offer in Europe and enhance our e-commerce offering on MSN."
Microsoft's search strategy is focused on three key areas: delivering the best results, simplifying key tasks and innovating in the business model. For commercial search, this means simplifying how consumers research and purchase online. Work is ongoing to ensure that Live Search delivers across all these categories, building on recent progress including the acquisition of Multimap and the decision to open a European Search Technology Centre this financial year.
Commenting on the announcement, Albert Angrisani, president and CEO of Greenfield Online, said, "We're proud of the community that we have helped to establish, and we're looking forward to exploring the new opportunities, technologies and relationships that Microsoft and the Live Search platform can unlock. Like Microsoft, we are passionate about delivering a great end-to-end commerce search experience. Today's announcement will significantly accelerate our ambition and will deliver real benefit for consumers and merchants across Europe."
Upon close of the agreement, the Ciao business will report to Rajat Taneja, general manager for Worldwide Commercial Search at Microsoft.

Greetings:
Today, when I requested payment for the award, I got the following message:
"You have exceeded the US IRS reporting requirement for this calendar year. In order for us to process your payment we must have your valid IRS Form W-9 on file. Please click here to print the form to complete and email scanned form, mail or fax a signed copy to us. After you send us this form, give us 10 days to process and then you may request payment again."
I have a question, what is the IRS reporting requirement and I think Greenfield should actually show the annual earningss on the rewards page in addition to the lifetime earnings and available to request shown. Now, I have a question, suppose that I don't request the award without sending in the W-9 and just continue taking surveys regularly, can I just wait until January 1, 2009 to request the payment without issues or will I lose the earnings because I read on the site that you have 30 days to claim earnings or lose it. Is that only when you are inactive for 6 months and receive the notification so it's 30 days after that or is it 30 days from when the earnings was available? Thank you for your assistance!
Answer:
Once a panelist has reached $600.00 annually, a W9 is required for tax compliance purposes. The requirement is that anyone that earns over $600 a year needs to be reported to the government. At the end of the year Greenfield Online will send to any ($600 or greater payee) a 1099 Form which is a sum of your payments for the year. This form requires a social security number for government purposes. Please note, this information will remain strictly confidential.
...suppose that I don't request the award without sending in the W-9 and just continue taking surveys regularly, can I just wait until January 1, 2009 to request the payment without issues?
If we have released payments to a panelist for $600+ then that person requires a W-9. It goes back to zero on January 1st. As others have commented here already, regardless of what you do or don’t earn, you are supposed to report any income to the IRS but we as an organization are not required to report it until the payments reach $600.

:) Yesterday I was doing surveys on the Greenfield site and when I got to my 10th survey it was an Invoke. That really made me Happy !!:p It was an Instant Invoke too. I've found that you have to spend some time on there and do those surveys and you will run into their Invokes. I wish I would of kept track so far how many I received on that site now. I know I've had 6 for sure and I've only joined that site on June 25 of this year. The Invokes were for $5, $10, $25, & $30. They also have been sending me Products to Test. There must be something in the Air with all the Test Products because I've been receiving alot of them in the last couple of weeks. So Glad I can Qualify for those too & alot of them are food products. I find them to by my Favorites...:)

Out of my $104.50 earnings on GFO, I have completed Invokes of $25, $30 and $30. That's $85 out of $104.50. I have earned less than $20 from attempting literally hundreds of surveys and completing at least a 100 I am sure in ten months.

I don't mind at all attempting all these surveys just to run into an Invoke. Matter of fact I think I've done quite well in the short time since I've joined this site. I really don't spend all that amount of time on doing these surveys because after starting them alot of the surveys I actually don't qualify anyway or they might already be filled. Like those nine surveys I did only took about 20 mins until I ran across the Invoke - so that was really worth it to me. :)

I just posted this last night on the Greenfield forum.
I hate to say anything negative about Greenfield, because I do enjoy the forum and they are still solidly in 7th place out of 33 survey sites that I take part in, but after only receiving $9.02 in incentives since August 8, 2008 I am going to be taking a long, hard look at how much time I am willing to devote to taking their surveys and participating in their promotions. I love the forum and I think Greenfield is great for people who enjoy taking surveys in order to express their opinions and also lucrative for many people who take their surveys exclusively, but they may not be lucrative for me in the long run.
I will post my one year summary of 'My Systematic Approach' after February 13, 2009 and give some general advice on what I have learned and show, without giving names, which surveys paid the most over the past year and which pay the most per month. For instance, Greenfield paid me $90 over the first five months, but only $9.02 over the past five months. Not a good trend, to say the least.

I took an Invoke survey the other night sponsored by Greenfield and have not heard from them yet regarding the $25 reward. Has anyone ever had a problem with Greenfield when they took an Invoke?
Nope - Never had a problem with them. Give them some time - usually between 2 weeks to a month and then you will be paid. ;)
Oh - By the Way, I also took an Invoke too last night.

I just spent 35 minutes completing a survey for Greenfield Online through ExpressIt that required watching three videos, answering at least 100 in-depth questions about every video then selecting presents for my 'gift bag' as a reward for taking the survey only to be told on the final screen:
Thank you for participating in this survey. You have received an entry in our latest sweepstakes! Unfortunately you did not qualify for this survey due to the specific requirements.
As usual the sweepstakes wasn't even credited to my account.

That happened to me, too. Does anyone really get these gift bags?
The only thing that annoys me more is 2 weeks ago I got a screener for a 75 minute $20.00 Invoke session about faucets, didn't qualify. Last week I got the same screener, this time it was $5.00 for 75 minutes about faucets - I furnished the same answers and qualified!
I declined - $5.00 for 75 minutes of faucet designs?

You do all the surveys you can and you will run into the Invokes ~ that's
where I make the most of my money. :)
I used to do the exact same thing and I made $98 last year from February through August 2008, but after continuing to take ALL surveys for about two to three hours per day and not receiving any more Invokes, I eventually quit. I have earned just $8 since last August 2008. I found that I am unable to spend three hours per day JUST on Greenfield Online when I am making $200 per month from two to three hours per day from my other 25 survey sites. How many hours per day do you average on Greenfield Online? I see that you have made more with them in a shorter amount of time than anyone else. It has taken Ohtocs two years to earn $919 and very few have earned more than that EVER from Greenfield without winning their elusive sweepstakes.

Lee if I would spend 1/2 hr tops usually on that site it's it. I know which surveys to take already that will lead me to an Invoke. The rest I may start but just get out of them when I know it's not leading me anywhere. I guess I'm just Lucky or I have the correct info I need that leads me to those Invokes.
I also make good money from the other sites too. Greenfield is the very last survey site of the day that I do. I make all the money I can from other sites and lately the Invokes have really been rolling in, (3) from Lightspeed, (2) from Greenfield and (1) from Global Opinion which paid me $60 for 50 mins ~ Too Cool !! :)

I'm still trying to decide whether I get less Invokes from GFO since filling out the daily surveys here at YFS. Greenfield is still my #1 survey panel this year - I think I'm getting 1-2 Invokes a month. Maybe completing the daily surveys here makes me more efficient at GFO - if I complete the daily OTX here, I know I won't be bogged down with OTX surveys there.
I figure if GFO sends me an invite, there's usually a reason - like an Invoke screener in the queue or some other sort of paying opportunity.

You probably do have a more desireable demographic than I do. I also click on every Greenfield survey after I have done all of the higher paying ones, but I am invariably DQed immediately after I click the 'Yes' button. I spend about five minutes a day on Greenfield unless I actually get a paid survey, which is about once a month tops. I did just complete a Greenfield survey for a $1 yesterday. That was my first paid survey since I completed a $1 survey on June 20. I also earned $2.50 from their 50 Cent Mother's Day promotion in May, but that's really not worth my while. I haven't even been invited to an Invoke Interactive this entire year from any survey site, leading me to wonder if they have blackballed me for some reason.

Yesterday I revceived the sweepstakes survey that lasted 50 minutes.
Survey On: Beverages
Reward: An entry in our current sweepstakes
Length: 50 Minutes (Approx.)
Survey Number: 1004540h
The Survey was hosted by OTX then Ktrmr and is the same survey that I have received from Survey Spot that paid $10. I have recieved this survey (Project=FB5XC) four times from several different panels and have completed it twice. Now Greenfield sends me the same beverage survey that is very long and doesn't even offer $1. Well I intentionally disqualified myself since this survey does not value my opinion.

Here is an email I got from Greenfield support. I wonder if this is a good thing?......
Your support case #13296 has been resolved
Type of Issue: Survey payment
Summary: Payment delay
Problem Description: The below payment was requested 22 days ago,
my four prior payments took 4-6 days. Whats up with that?
Status: Closed
Date Closed: Jul 31 2009 06:53:38
Thank you for your email enquiring about when your incentive request will be processed.
Following the recent acquisition of Greenfield Online by Toluna we are currently coordinating the systems and processes of the two organizations.
Because of this, the next round of PayPal payments requested in July will be processed up to two weeks later.
This is a slightly longer turnaround than we have become used to and we apologize for this, but we hope to return to normal schedules as soon as possible after this time.
Thank you for your understanding during this transition period.
We are very excited about the opportunities that our new ownership will bring, but there is an inevitable 'settling in' period, which we will endeavor to keep to a minimum so you are not unduly affected.
I hope that I have answered your question satisfactorily, but please do not hesitate to re-open this ticket should you still have questions.
Regards,
Samantha White

I requested a small Paypal payment from Greenfield 53 days ago.
I just sent my 3rd email to them. Past payments only took 4-8 days.
Is anyone else getting paid?
Maybe they have new rules and only payout larger amounts.
Maybe this is a lenghty payment freeze.
Perhaps we should start a forum pool, as to what date they actually turn the payments back on.
Hmmm...date may not be good...month? year? (lol)

I know members make money from Greenfield but for me it has been too frustrating. All of the sweepstakes, not qualifys, etc. have forced me to drop them. Good luck to all.

I'm right behind you buddy, but I feel like I have a few others that are even worse e.g. SendEarnings/InboxDollars, that I will drop first.

I have noticed recently that Greenfield are sending out a lot more paid surveys to me.....it could be because i do a lot of sweepstakes with them.

I dont do greenfield surveys at their site anymore.I only get sweepstakes incentives & it takes to long to get paid from them and it doesnt matter if you request a check or paypal. I think they say they pay in 4-6 weeks.
I havent "dropped" them cause in the past I've done some onloine focus groups which have paid $25.

Yes, I have also received three Invoke Interactives from Greenfield as recently as August 2008, which make up the bulk of my earnings with them ($25, $30 and $30 out of $110 total earnings). I also just received a product test of one pound of gourmet coffee that was delcious and paid $1. This was my first product test through Greenfield.

i did this one too but i got DQ'd towards the end of the survey...how stupid to send a product to test and not want the feedback on it (although they probably got what they needed for free). at least i got some free coffee out of the deal

For the past couple of weeks I noticed slow response when I took a greenfield survey.
Now I cant get past the "start survey" screen. Is this site down or is it just my PC?

I shutdown and ran an anti-virus program... and its fine now.
They even paid me..but that was slow!
