Not sure where else to put this, but I came across this interesting page about problems with OTX surveys, which I am certain that we have all experienced.
Technical Issues (http://survey.otxresearch.com/SurveyFrame.aspx?user_id=qb%7c%7cWqzp83YIswLKvweoz nA%3d%3d)
Why did I get a "Site Not Responding" or "Page Cannot Be Displayed" message?
This message is displayed in rare instances when we have a server that is temporarily unavailable. As this situation usually corrects itself within minutes, we ask that you please be patient and try the survey again.
Why did I get an "Invalid Session" message?
When you are inactive for an extended amount of time (this depends on the survey you are taking, but it is usually 45 minutes), the system marks you as having expired. If you eventually try to keep taking the survey, you will receive an "Invalid Session" page. If you receive this message and you were never inactive, please contact us and our technical support team will trace the problem as quickly as possible.
Why did I get a "Page Not Found" or "Invalid Link" message?
If you received a "Page Not Found" or "Invalid Link" error, the link you attempted to use is incorrect or missing a piece of information. Please try the link again by copying it in its entirety and pasting it into the address bar of Internet Explorer. If you receive the same error, please immediately contact the company that invited you to our survey.
It takes forever for your pages to load, and sometimes they don't load at all. / Sometimes I click on the "Next" button and nothing happens.
In rare cases when our servers are overloaded, it can take an extended period of time for the next page of a survey to load, and in even rarer instances, the page will not load at all. Generally, even under heavy traffic the pages should eventually respond. If they don’t, database errors are automatically sent to the technical support team so the situation can be corrected as soon as possible.
How do I enable cookies?
You can easily enable and disable cookies in your browser. In Microsoft Internet Explorer click on the Tools menu, and select Internet Options. Click on the Privacy tab and set the slider-bar under Settings to Medium. This should enable cookies for our site and allow you to access our system.
I have cookies enabled, but your site is still telling me they aren't.
To correct this, please verify that the entry link to the survey is correct. If this problem persists, all browser windows should be closed and a new window should then be used to re-enter the survey.
The video won’t load/play.
This can be a result of low bandwidth, a survey programming error, a rare condition where JavaScript code failed to start the video, or one of several other possible problems, including a Windows DRM licensing issue. We're sorry for the inconvenience, and ask that you please contact us so that we may trace the problem and fix it as quickly as possible.
Are you Mac compatible?
At this time, most of our surveys are only available using Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers. We do not support Safari yet, but if you use a Mac, you should be able to take most of our surveys with Firefox.
Why aren’t you Firefox compatible?
At this time, most of our surveys are only available using Internet Explorer on Windows 98 or higher because we use Windows DRM (Digital Rights Management) security on most videos. Whenever possible, we have surveys that are Firefox compatible. If you are on Windows 98 or higher, have Internet Explorer, but use Mozilla's Firefox, there is a Firefox add-on that you can download and install called ""IE Tab."" This extension can open and embed Internet Explorer in a Firefox tab when specified, allowing you to participate in our surveys while still using Firefox. To download and install this feature, please click here to go to Mozilla's Firefox Add-ons page or click here to go to the Official Page for the IE Tab extension. Once this is properly installed, you can right click on a link and select "Open Link in IE Tab" to view the page correctly.
What are the technical requirements to take your surveys?
Basic Requirements for any survey
-JavaScript and Cookies enabled
-Flash v8 or higher
Basic requirements for IE-only surveys
-Windows 98/2000/XP/Vista
-Internet Explorer 5 or higher
-JavaScript and Cookies enabled
Additional requirements for surveys using secure video (IE-only)
-Windows Media Player 7 or higher
-The ability to hear audio on your computer through speakers or headphones.
Other requirements
You may be required to install additional plug-ins (such as Flash) for some of our specialized surveys.
Your surveys never work for me.
Our surveys may not be working for you for a variety of reasons. First please check that you meet our technical requirements. If this doesn't resolve your issue, please give us as much detail as possible about the problems you are encountering when you try to access our surveys so we can better troubleshoot your problem.
I tried to take a survey and it told me I didn't qualify even though I didn't answer any questions.
This can happen if you've attempted to access a survey that is already full, if all other available surveys in our system are full, or if you are trying to take the same survey again. Thank you for your willingness to participate, and please be sure to keep an eye out for our next survey invitation!
Why did I get a message telling me that "there are no surveys available at this time"?
We do our best to always have surveys available, but sometimes this is not possible. If you receive this message, please try back in a few days as we should have more surveys available then. Thank you for your interest in sharing your opinion!
A button, box, or other piece of the survey was missing.
If a button, box, or other piece of the survey is obviously missing, this is a programming error and we ask that you email us, copying and pasting the full URL shown in the address bar into the message body, so that we can investigate and correct the problem as quickly as possible.

and annoying. It was ok when only Greenfield and MyPoints carried their surveys, but now quality companies like Opinion Outpost and Survey Savvy now use them, reducing my chances of cashing out.

Well I NEVER received any OTX surveys from Opinion Outpost and Survey Savvy, but I agree that OTX are the the lowest quality surveys out there. One of their problems that really gets on my nerves is when I'm watching a movie commercial or video. Sometimes then I'm watching the video, I terminates me out of the survey. They say this happens because I did not have a "seemless experience" and because other programs were running. Well that's a lot of BS!!!!
Yeah I will admit sometimes I it's my fault this happens, but most of time I only have one window open and their is nothing running in the background. This is a very annoying problem that happens when I was taking a $10 Mindfield survey.

Yes OTX surveys are too damn hard, and also since u can do only 1 per day, you cannot do another even if u get one, from mindfield online or opinion outpost. Really reduces the no of surveys u can do :(

Yes, unfortunately that does seem true, it's a pity, since both opinion outpost and global test market are in my list of top 10 sites. I redeemed $50 from global test market only a few days back, and have made $26 from opinion outpost, so far this month.
But now that they have been infected, maybe i won't have so much luck anymore :(

You can do MORE than 1 per day. Only the OTX surveys hosted by AMP SURVEYS are 1/24 h.

$1.80 in Daily Surveys - Take a Survey each day!
Requirements: US Adults over 21
Amp Daily Surveys Earn $1.05 Per day (http://partners.offerwise.com/z/2432/CD393/). We will credit your account $1.05 for each survey you complete. Limit One survey per day. You can keep trying until you qualify. Since OTX constantly adds new surveys you can try until you qualify.
You can't even do one every day from YourFreeSurveys any more lately, because I am doing them more frequently with other paid survey sites. I keep getting this message when I click on the YFS link.
Come back soon
We're sorry, but you seem to have reached the maximum number of surveys in our system for the time period. If you have joined several survey programs, you may have taken one of our surveys on another survey program.
We have many survey opportunities most of the time, so don't hesitate to try again tomorrow for your next chance to give your opinion.
Note that we are temporarily unable to send you back to your survey program. Please accept our apologies.

I get that message ALL THE TIME. That's why I haven't done the daily surveys at Fusion Cash nor Send Earnings (I get a similar message from Opinion Surveys) in all july. It's so frustrating that I've given up

Thank you again for taking the time to provide honest and thoughtful answers to our surveys.

Well, i have been able to do 2 Otx surveys in one day, but that was only a few times, and i thought that was just luck.
are u sure that the 1 survey a day only applies to Otx surveys from amp, since i have tried Otx surveys from mindfield, global test market, creation rewards, and others, but i still get the same reply
" Sorry, but u have reached the maximum limit of surveys for today, please come back later"

Yes, I'm pretty sure!
But OTX has a limit of surveys you can do per day. Is not ONE but I don't know what it is. When you've tried to do that number, then you get that annoyin message.

I hate OTX! Usually their surveys are long and annoying. There was one time where I was being paid $5 for a survey that was 40 mins long, and at the last minute when I was putting my classification information it, the server timed out and I lost my $5 THAT I WORKED SO HARD FOR!. I just hate it.

One more reason to hate OTX. After a 30-minute survey on Entertainment shows on TV, I got the message below. I was just answering which shows I preferred between Axcess Hollywood, CNN and Entertainment Tonight and giving ET most of the best checks, but a few for honesty and straightforward coverage to CNN.

Wow, Lee that really sucks!!! I have NEVER received that message when taking a OTX survey. I'm just wondering what reward, if any, would you receive if you completed this survey and which panel link did you click to access this survey?

I get the exact same survey from OTX on mobile phones every single day and I essentially have the answers memorized and took about 10-12 minutes to complete the survey which was marked '15 Minute Survey' and got this message:
We're sorry.
We are glad you decided to participate in a survey today. However, because you completed the survey significantly faster than 95% of the other people who have taken it already, we are concerned you were not able to give sufficient time and consideration to your responses. For this reason, we will be unable to use your responses or reward you for this particular survey.

Sorry to buck the conventional wisdom here, but I think OTX surveys have gradually improved over the past year. I used to despise them with a passion, but now that Greenfield Online, GlobalTestMarket, Mindfield Online, DailySurveyPanel, YourFreeSurveys and QuickRewards are all offering them, I think they have started to shape up. I have also noticed that OTX only gives you the option of rating your survey experience on their shorter, better surveys, which is highly prejudicial, probably just to show their clients how wonderful they are. I am honest about how much I like their surveys and usually give them a 7 or an 8. I would complain about how they never asked my opinion about their longer more redundant surveys when they allowed you to comment, but they have removed that option now.

After completing a 35-minute survey from OTX through YourFreeSurveys I sent this email to OTX Technical Support.
I just took an OTX survey through YourFreeSurveys. which required me to watch a long video featuring commercials for Push, VISA, Mazda 6, Verizon, Apple iPod, etc., answered multiple questions per page on 70 pages, I counted them, take a virtual store tour and that lasted over 35 minutes only to be told that I was disqualfied. I find this practice to be patently unfair and would like to receive compensation for it. Thanks.

Once again, I spent a few minutes on the typical OTX screener and was told that I qualified for a survey on various consumer products. I watched a 6-minute long video, then took a 2-minute virtual store tour and answered questions over many pages about the brands I observed. Then I was asked many more questions about lunchmeats, cereals and breakfast bars. After spending a total of 19 minutes on the survey (last time it took me over 30 minutes) I was once again disqualified. I think OTX is gathering too much free information before disqualifying me on this particular survey and I would like to be compensated and have this survey removed from those that I am offered. The survey was through YourFreeSurveys and the opening URL was:

Glad that I'm not the only one this is happening to :)
Its especially frustrating when their link is broken and they think you took a survey so you cant even try for at least an hour. They are the only survey company (that I know of) that tracks you to the exact moment so it is EXACTLY 24 hours between surveys.

It seems to me that OTX has added a new wrinkle to their arsenal. In the past I always knew when I was getting booted, usually by the delay in getting to the next screen or "if not redirected in the next 10 seconds . . .". Now, they are employing these to jump from one survey to another so they can waste more of your time before they can boot you.

Every time OTX tells me to enter my name i get booted from the network.
I think its because my last name happens to be the same as one restaurant.

I have been wondering if anybody is having the same problems that I am having with OTX? I have not qualified for a survey by OTX in over 6 months. I will answer 15 - 20 questions and then am told I don't qualify. I have even emailed OTX and they didn't respond. Can some one tell me if there is a trick to qualifing for OTX? You need a lot of patience with the OTX Surveys that's for sure. From my experience you can only do 1 of them for each 24 hour period so i usually pick the survey invite with the greater incentive. This week i got a $7 OTX from Mindfield which was well worth the 45 minutes i spent on the survey. My advice is keep taking them because i do notice a lot of higher paying OTX surveys these days.

OTX is the bane of the daily survey taker's existence. You cannot do quite as well without taking the repetitive, tedious, poorly-programmed surveys they offer virtually everywhere.

In 3 years of survey taking, I qualified for my FIRST OTX survey. I was shocked since I had virtually given up when I receive a survey invitation then see "transferring to partner site" and then saw the partner site was OTX. I was actually taking a survey through YFS when I directed to OTX and I thought "what the heck. I'll give it another shot" and I qualifed!

Yeah those OTX Surveys are quite annoying. Knowing you can only take 1 of their surveys over a 24 hour period, and even if you qualify after going through those boring, repetitive questions that last up to 30 minutes. I have missed out on some high-paying OTX survey invites because of a OTX survey i took earlier in the day for a $1 or sometimes even $0.50. From now on i think i'll try to take the daily OTX on YFS because i am spending way too much time trying to pick and choose the right OTX survey from other sites.
