The issue that I have with this survey site is earning “Sweepsland Points” which are only redeemable for entries into sweepstakes. There are loads of options from which to choose, but they are all “chances” to win. The more points the more chances to win, but these points can never be turned into cash or actual prizes. Although I realize that people must be winning these things, I’m a skeptic by nature and don’t see the time spent vs. reward to be great. I am a member of so many sites, that “chance to win sweepstakes” ones are at the very bottom of my priority list.

I only joined NPDOR to earn the incentive with Tik Tik Cash, then I unsubscribed immediately. Not my thing.

I joined them without knowing that they were only for sweepstakes... as soon as I found out, I unsubscribed!

of NPD Online Research since last year I think. I'm a member of this survey panel because most of their survey take less than 5 minutes. Some even take less than 30 seconds. Thats a fair trade off of getting entries into sweepstakes that I will most likely not win. NPDOR is NOT in my top #10 list heck it's not even in my top #25 list but I use it because it doesn't take 30 minutes to complete their surveys.

Does anyone know that the NPD stands for in their name?

Here is some info about them:

The NPD Group provides consumer and retail information and insights for a wide range of industries. We’ve been at it since 1967, and we’re considered the gold standard for market research in each industry we track. More than 1,400 manufacturers and retailers rely on NPD information to help them make successful business decisions.
How do you fit in?

If you’re already an NPD Online Research (NPDOR) panelist or if you decide to join our growing community of consumer panelists, you’ll complete quick, fun online surveys telling us what you think about the products you buy, the services you use, the places you shop and more. We compile information from panelists like you to provide many of the world’s biggest companies with valuable insight into what is selling, where, to whom and why.

NPD tracks many industries, so whether the surveys you receive are about fast food or footwear, video games or vacuums, we’re interested in what you think. Your opinions count!

Here’s a look at the industries NPD covers:

Apparel
Appliances
Automotive
Beauty
Cellular
Consumer Electronics
Food and Beverage
Foodservice
Footwear Home Improvement
Home Textiles
Housewares
Imaging
Information Technology
Music
Software
Toys
Video Games

I currently have 1845 in my NPDOR account. My plan is to maximize my amount of points by entering the sweepstakes that ends that latest then when the endline get close I will which the points. If I can handle getting 6 millions points on RewardTV then I can do this.

The NPD Group, Inc. (formerly National Purchase Diary)

I guess that name fits since all their surveys are about purchases. That's why all their survey are so short and one of the main reasons I take their surveys.

Listen, I take surveys everyday to supplement my income because I have to live on a disability check once a month. My check is not bad, but it is 30% of the money I used to make at my firefighter job. After getting into these surveys on line that pay money, this is one of the first sites I joined. At first I thought it was fun. Then Thought it sucked because I had never won a darn thing. Then my roommate gets an email 2 weeks ago from sweep land, and he thought it is the monthly email they send out telling you about the prizes and stuff. But it was not that, it was a grand prize notification for a trip for 2 to LA. All inclusive. I had been on line the day he put the tickets in for the trip. I used to break his nuts all the time because he used to save all his tickets he used to get and just bank them, instead of using them every time he got some. So the day he had seen this trip he put 800 tickets for the LA trip and won the darn thing. He is bringing me as his guest, so I thought it is great. Flights, transports, hotel in 5 star for 6 nights, $500 cash spending, go to see one of the 4 TV tapings for Jay Leno, Deal or No Deal, Price is right, or Ellen D program. Plus another day to warner brothers, and another to Beverly Hills for shopping spree. So its not that bad. If you look under the winners on that site, look for the LA trip In July Prizes, a guy named e weingarten from Las Vegas. That is us. So you can win, plus the surveys are only once per week, and take no longer then 8 minutes. So that is the reason I keep them up. I'm saving my tickets from this point on, I'll say this much!

Dude, That' exactly why I'm still a member of NPD. I knew people did win their prizes but now that I have heard from one of those people, I'm even more excited to put my 2000 plus points to a sweepstakes that I could have a good chance of winning. Congrats on your win. I'm just wondering, how many points did you enter in that sweepstakes you won?

Most of the time I enter less that 1000 points, but now I'm saving my points to have a better chance of winning, just like what your doing.

I would prefer cash or giftcards, but the surveys are short and I get very few of them, so I don't feel as if I'm wasting lots of time with NPDOR. (Unlike a couple of other survey sites I could mention, but won't since y'all are prolly sick of my complaints already. ;))
