I think there are several things that make a survey site ideal. I am sure to leave some things out, so feel free to add your comments.
Frequent surveys
Fairly compensated for amount of time ($1-$10 for 10 to 45 minutes)
Offers Invoke Interactives for high incentives ($10-$150 for 45-120 minutes)
Low cash out point ($5 to $10)
Pays in cash via PayPal in a timely manner (3-4 days)
Good customer service by email and/or phone
Well-organized website with payment and survey history
Screeners insure that you are qualified for most surveys received
Forum to air complaints and have contact with dedicated survey employee
Little or no spam

Here are three more ideas....
--Offers surveys that actually work have no programming erros.. basically a panel that does not offer OTX surveys
-- Has surveys that do not ask repetitive question and doesn't bombard you will a whole table of very specific traits of a product that sometimes don't even make sense
-- Has surveys that really value your time and do not offer $1 for a 40 minute survey i.e --> Indox Dollars

Here's one:
instant confirmation, or quick confirmation, like YourFreeSurveys.com.

That is a great suggestion! I have often wondered why some survey sites credit your account automatically within minutes of completing the survey, but others, like Greenfield, SurveySpot and Mindfield, make you wait weeks and occaisionally months to add the incentive to your account. I very often have to email customer support for these three companies asking them to confirm surveys that I have taken and SurveySpot, which has excellent customer service, uses different numbers for their surveys on their website under your survey history than they do in their survey email invitations.

Also good suggestions, but I just assumed that the survey site would be free of programming errors and I do not think there will be any escaping OTX now that Greenfield Online, Mindfield, GlobalTestMarket, YourFreeSurveys, DailySurveyPanel and QuickRewards all offer them. I take quite a few surveys for $0.50 to $0.60 for surveys that sometimes last 20-30 minutes and I am not happy about it, but I doubt that I am going to stop taking them because they add up to about $2-3 per day for me.

I just thought of another one:
No more points system!
It's too complicated except for HCD where 1000 points = $10. Just give us cash please.

Nice, Clean looking website
Quick Paypal payments
No spam
Very little or no ads
Surveys: Frequent, Decent pay(not like 50cents for 120 question survey), doesn't disqualify you all the time, credits properly and quickly

I also like the surveys where you do not have 25 or more questions per page, but just long bars that you can click on anywhere to record your answer in the circle on the far left. I also like having the Next and Previous buttons so you can go back, if needed.

here are a couple more
-surveys that have track-bars
-quick disqualification- i don't want to answer questions for 5+ minutes only to be disqualified.

All good ideas.
I would especially like to see screening out done right at the beginning. For me this is the biggest survey turn off. Also customer service that provides an actual service and responds to emails.

An ideal survey site would sent 4 invites per week. No more, No Less. And of course a good length like 10 minutes plus a fair reward like $3.
